We set sail Dec 26th on the NA! Give us your 1 best piece of advice!

 

Could be about anything! Most of us are first time cruisers!!

Don't overplan, or try to micro-manage your whole cruise. Some things will not go as expected - just go with the flow. Relax and enjoy whatever happens. Have a great cruise! :)

If something is not to your liking or desires, please ask, chances are they can do what you need in a reasonable amount of time or give you a reasonable explanation... this way you won't be festering about it all cruise.

 

Bring a good attitude and remember the staff and crew are people too, and they are trying their best to make your vacation wonderful.

Keep in mind throughout the cruise THAT YOU ARE ON ONE!!! Also remember that you are with family and loved ones and the crew (99.99% at least) are not. Enjoy!!

Bring your cruise atitude with you. The staff on board can not be more accomodating enjoy every moment. We loved the lido cabanas. We loved ordering coffee and fruit in the am on the veranda.

What to wear? A smile. Greet and acknowledge fellow passengers and crew members with a smile. Every encounter will be the better for it.

 

Probably sounds a bit silly and trite, I know. However its been my observation that on board there are always those who contribute positively to the overall ambiance and others -- not so much. Of course this is true of life in general, but with the relatively small populatation on board, everyone's experience is to some degree intertwined.

Don't over pack. Always remember that a bad day on a Cruise Ship beats a good day anywhere else. Smile & have the time of your life.

Have a great cruise! Smile at everyone you meet. Most of the time they will smile at you and wish you a good day. If not, keep smiling and say that that you hope they have a good day. Sometimes let someone in line in front of you if they seem to need to get there first. Most importantly, this is your vacation. Treasure the person/people you are with. Your memories will last a lifetime!

Be careful not to get sun burned on the first day. If you're as fair-skinned as I am, it can happen in 20 minutes in the deceptively wonderful Caribbean sun.

 

And yes, smile and say thank you to the hard working crew...they will spoil you if you let them. :)

If you drink alcohol on NYE make sure you drink lots of water as well. Take painkillers before the morning after headache/hangover. Take them with something caffeinated if you want the pills to work faster.

 

Nothing worse than a hangover on a sea day. The room really is moving!

Lots of pictures taken during the cruise. Ask the photo desk to hold them until the end of your cruise and pick your favorites. You could go broke on just pictures. Smile, you're on vacation. :)

Do something or try something different!

 

Try an onboard activity that is different than your nomal routine.

 

Try something new and different in the dining room. If you hate it, you can always order something else.
