Babies in the pool on RCI

My brother and sister-in-law are thinking of taking a cruise in October 2012 with Royal Caribbean. Their daughter will be 10 months old at the time. Will she be able to go in the pool with them? I'm thinking she has to be out of a diaper but can't find anything on RCI website.

Due to public health regulations, children in diapers, swim diapers, pull-ups or who are not COMPLETELY toilet trained are not allowed in the pools, whirlpools or H2O zone. Children in diapers or who are not toilet trained may use the Baby Splash Zone specially designated for them on the Freedom of the Seas®, Liberty of the Seas®, Independence of the Seas®, Oasis of the SeasSM and Allure of the SeasSM.

Unless she's potty-trained, she won't be allowed in the pools. Some ships do have a baby "splash zone", where diapered ones can splash, but they are NOT allowed in the actual pools unless she's fully trained. Swimmies aren't allowed, for kids or adults!!

 

What some folks will do, is to bring a small, inflatable tub....put a few cups of water in it, and let baby splash. A 10 month old will not be clammering to swim! They simply aren't old enough to want to!

Buyer Beware: Children who are not potty-trained are not allowed to swim in the ship's pools, with or without swim diapers. However, on Freedom- and Oasis-class ships, kids who are not toilet trained can play in the specially designated Baby Splash Zone.
