Super Bowl Sunday?

I'm embarking on my first cruise on the Millenium, 4 day Western Carribbean on February 2nd. I'm just now realizing that I'll be at sea on Super Bowl Sunday. Has anybody ever cruised during a major sporting event? And if so, PLEASE tell me they showed the game.

TIA

Have done so on each Super Bowl Sunday cruise we have taken over past five years (maybe we're in a rut?). Expect it to be shown on a big screen somewhere, probably the theater, also smaller screens as in the casino, and possibly on the in-room tv as well. They usually re-arrange formal nights to avoid that day, also do "tailgate" type foods during the game.

I was on SUMMIT for the last Superbowl and it was fabulous:D

They set up a BIG, BIG, BIG SCREEN in the Celebrity theater.......it took

up the entire stage:)

They had all kinds of food, decorations, etc..... They had a smaller

spread of food in the Casino too.

They had the "Squares Game" as well.....10.00 and 20.00 squares.

One of my tablemates won the 4th quarter.....it was quite a bit of money

too....somewhere in the 700.00 range!

There were a lot of Steeler and Packer fans on board.

So, yes they will be showing the game.:) I will be on board next

weekend for the Divisional Playoffs! Should be fun too:)

Last year we were on the Navigator during the playoffs and they showed the games in the ice rink and sports bar. A few years back we were on a ship and it was shown in the theater. You could order buckets of beer and food. Most people opted not to eat in the dining room that night to watch the game. In the third quarter they lost the satellite signal. I thought there was going to be a mutiny! It came back on after about a half hour, thank goodness. Always an adventure on a cruise ship.

We were at sea on Super Bowl Sunday when the Steelers played

the Cardinals a few years ago. The ship showed the game in the

main theater, and offered complimentary popcorn, and , I think, hot dogs.

They also sold premium seats in a roped off area up front with added

amenities. I think it was about $75 pp and they didn't sell many.

Overall, it was a fun atmosphere as long as you weren't one of the

five people who purchased the premium seats

We were on the Equinox last year for super bowl and they did a nice job. The game was on the big screen in the theater. There were people handing out popcorn and they had beer specials. They set up a buffet in the back of the theater with wings, hot dogs, burgers, nachos, etc. It was a lot of fun, they really went all out.
