some are adults only, and some aren't.

 

if the pool is cold, there will be lots of kids in the hot tub.

There is supposed to be an adults only pool and hit tub area, but it is rarely enforced. If your cruise is during a school break you can expect the hot tubs to be packed with kids and no parents around...

The only hot tubs they seem to enforce the adults only restriction is in the serinity adults only area.

I do think it varies from ship to ship and pool to pool! If there is an "adult" area, then no kids under the posted age....usually 16 or 18. The main pool area hot tubs will have kids in them....guaranteed!

They should be old enough to know that a hot tub is not to be used for diving and jumping in from the side.

On our cruise last Oct, the hot tub near the Lido pool was treated like a kiddy pool. There were tons of kids in there every single day with those water wiggle-arm bandies on. The parents had loungers surrounding the hot tubs so they could keep an eye on them but the kids treated the hot tub as a kiddie splashing zone and we saw very few adults able to get in it. It seemed like one large extended family there each day that would set up camp early and take the tub over.

If I want to get away from the lukewarm tubs on decks filled with kids, I go to the spa and melt in their hot tub....if I had a teen onboard, I would see if age limit applies in spa
