Agora or Acropolis Museum with kids?teens?

We are only going to do one museum in Athens and I am wondering, which one is the better option for kids 11-18, the New Acropolis Museum or the Agora Museum? The rest of our day will include a tour of the Acropolis and walking around the Plaka and Anafiotika neighborhood. We are trying not to squeeze in a ton of things but would rather choose a few and do them well.

Also, are there two Acropolis Museums? Sometimes I read Acropolis Museuma and sometimes New Acropolis Museum

Up until about 3 years ago, the Acropolis Museum was located ON the Acropolis in an old building that was too small for the collection they had. (In addition, there was some back and forth about the return of the Elgin marbles; the British position being that even if they were returned, the Greeks had nowhere to properly display them.)

So, a new museum was constructed and it is gorgeous. I visited it in 2010; you can read the review I wrote here:

The "old" museum is no longer open.

As for the Agora Museum, it is tiny. Literally 2-3 rooms and worth a quick walk through. There are some great things in there (for kids who have or who will be studying the start of democracy in school, hint, hint) such as one of the first inscriptions to mention the term "democracy", and the pieces of ostraka (pottery) that were used to "ostracize" prominent statesmen of Athens (if you look you will see famous names from history).

I found the Agora museum really boring. Most of the exhibits are on glass shevles and you have to read too much to know what you are looking at. The new Acoplilis museum was really great. It is neat to walk over plexiglass covering ruins. Make sure you watch the short movie which will explain the top floor. It's a good oppertunity to sit for a bit too.
