what month was the sea the roughest for you?

On our 17 day Hawaii Circle cruise on Zaandam Sept 25/12. It was very rough the first couple of days. Many passengers stayed in their cabins. The first formal night was postponed. Seasick bags were at all the elevators/stairwells and thru out the ship.

Our first night in bed we listened as the drawers slide open and closed, open and closed. We were told that night we were only sailing at 2 knots.

The Captain announced that he had been sailing for thirty years and this was the second worst he had sailed thru.:eek:

Spring time out of Galveston would likely be fairly rough. We get a lot of wind around here during that time. Not unbearably rough, but rough enough that you would probably notice it.

Our worst was a January Bahamas cruise when a HUGE cold front came down through Florida. We cruise the 2nd week in February almost every year and usually have 1 rough day - almost always crossing the straits of Florida when a cold front comes down.

NYC to Bermuda in early May , 30ft seas , was the roughest I
have encountered in over 60 cruises over 30 years.

Interesting enough, it was July. 4th of July to be exact.

Sailing the Bahamas & Caribbean in March & Sept so far has been good. After reading this thread, I'm seriously reconsidering January to avoid no matter how good a deal!

November...Last day of 7-day Thanksgiving cruise had pools sloshing all over and all upper decks closed.

Inspiration in August made me a little sick. Other than one night, I was fine though. We went out of Tampa to Cozumel and missed grand cayman due to a hurricane we had to sail around, so you could understand why the seas were rocky.

Oct 2010 right after a Tropical Storm, but loved every minute of it. I am one of those that likes to know that the boat is moving.
