Livefortday! Posted February 21, 2012 #26 Share Posted February 21, 2012 My son was 16 years old and sat down at a table and played Texas Holdem for 3 1/2 hours with no one carding him. After the 3 1/2 hours he lost his original money and got up and left. That was 4 years ago. My 14 year old daughter was with me the whole time I played slots and no carding. So as long as they don't win it is not a big deal. Also as long as they act mature while playing. We did see an obnoxious underage boy sit down the same time as my son after 10 minutes he got carded and asked to leave and not come back.

I have never seen anyone under 18 allowed to sit in the casino on an RCI ship.
BunkerVA Posted February 21, 2012 #28 Share Posted February 21, 2012 I was in my mid-20's, but looked younger than my age and got carded...I was winning BIG though. Maybe they just REALLY wanted to make sure they had to give me the money. Caribbean stud! My first time in the Casino! :D This was on Radiance. Plus, I kept hitting a full house which not only got me the moolah, but a DOD!! (Which after one, I started giving away to others at the table...) It was my luckiest night ever. I haven't won in the Casino since! I even got carded when I paused to stop to talk to my MIL at the slots. They really are no nonsense.
LeeGrant Posted February 21, 2012 #29 Share Posted February 21, 2012 You will find they are very lax - expect to often see young children in the casino - on our last RCCL cruise it was a total pain with children in there. Had to ask the staff on more than one occasion to move them on and they were reluctant to ask the children to move. This was in Europe, so maybe things are different over here. Rare LittleMissMagic Posted February 21, 2012 #30 Share Posted February 21, 2012 It would be understandable if they were less strict on European itineraries. However, on every Caribbean itinerary I've sailed leaving from US territory (including PR), they have been very strict, carding everyone who plays a game and even those who just stand to watch. Lysingers Posted February 22, 2012 #32 Share Posted February 22, 2012 I have seen this mentioned before. What does it mean? To quote the late, great Gilda Radner's SNL character, Ms. Emily Letella, "Never mind." I just did a thread search and found the answer to my own question. As a non-drinker, I was not that familiar with the abbreviation for the "drink of the day." Thanks anyway!
herbanrenewal Posted February 22, 2012 #33 Share Posted February 22, 2012 Are you talking about just being in the Casino, or gambling himself? Guess I don't get it. Why would an underage teenager want to be gambling away? I guess I don't get it either. Why would a parent promote/support underage gambling?
