OrpingtonT Posted February 21, 2012 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2012 I case some may have missed it, our Regent centenarian, the improbably named, Dr. Tinkle has passed away at the age of 102 years. He was referred to in many posts and celebrated his 100th birthday on a world cruise. Jamie Logan's tribute is here http://www.sameshipdifferentday.com/2012/02/20/my-tribute-to-a-terrific-traveler/
Rare WesW Posted February 21, 2012 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2012 Thanks for posting Tom, read Jamie's and Dana's wonderful tribute (moving words coupled with joyous pix) to the late Dr. Tinkle earlier this morning.
tripperva Posted February 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2012 Rest in peace Lloyd.Your outrageous costumes and beautiful smile brought laughs and joy to all onboard. And you will be missed by all the ladies who loved to dine with you. Those were great cruises on Royal Viking Sun, Radisson and Regent. What a unique man. neviboy Posted February 21, 2012 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2012 We surely remember him. He was an inspiration to the young cruisers like us. I introduced him to Hannah on one cruise. He said "you're too old for her. I'll dance with her." ( I was celebrating my 79th. birthday !!!) And this bloke said he was 96 !! I told him to get rid of that David Niven moustache. What a wonderful human being. These are the type of people one meets on Regent. Best wishes Jaimie and the water skier !!!
billteer Posted March 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted March 5, 2012 We were on the Sydney to Singapore cruise when Dr. Tinkle celebrated his 100th birthday. Regent had a great party for him. He would go the lobby every morning and play the piano. We also played bridge with him every sea day. A great man and a fun person.
