amyj23 Posted March 24, 2012 #51 Share Posted March 24, 2012 That name is familiar! I wonder if he was the piano man on the Dream a few years ago? Happy Cruisin!! Cheryl Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Cheryl, what week were you on the Dream in May 2010??? We were on B2B (look at my signature for the dates) that same month. Anyway, I know that the guy who was in the piano bar's name was Barry. Not Brad. Too bad... :( He was AWESOME. I found this thread recently: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1563047&highlight=piano+bar+brad And it looks like this Brad guy's contract will be up 5 months before we cruise (6/17/12). Hopefully someone will post an updated piano bar player list before we go so we can do a background check on the new piano guy's awesomeness! (I still get the song Volcano stuck in my head from him!) Also, can anyone who's been on the Valor recently tell me if the aft pool is in fact, adults only. There's going to be a crapload of kids on the Thanksgiving week of our cruises and I need a kid's free zone WITH a pool.

likewine Posted April 2, 2012 #63 Share Posted April 2, 2012 I was on the Valor in 2010 and will be on the Valor again this year. We liked the ship and it's theme... Eagles everywhere! Our favorite place to hang out was the Atrium Bar... Nice waiter who showed us lots of tricks and he was always up for a chat. If you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to try to answer these... Here are some pics: The Valor in Grand Cayman The Atrium (with the bar) Like I said: Eagles everywhere! Do you remember what time you cleared custom after disembarkation? We are arranging for private car service, but I'm not sure what time I should make reservation for. They allow up to one hour wait. RobertL88 Posted April 3, 2012 #64 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Good question! :p I don't know it exactly anymore, but I believe we were in zone 12 for debarking the ship and I would say we were getting our luggage at 10:30-ish?
TheFenz Posted April 3, 2012 #65 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Do you remember what time you cleared custom after disembarkation? We are arranging for private car service, but I'm not sure what time I should make reservation for. They allow up to one hour wait. We were zone 14 and we were called to disembark around 8:30-9:00. Waited a few minutes for the luggage to come around on its' little luggage ride and then customs took all of two minutes.
likewine Posted April 3, 2012 #66 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Okay. Thanks. We're gonna take our own luggage down so, I made the pickup reservation for 10.
avenger71 Posted April 3, 2012 #67 Share Posted April 3, 2012 You are in luck...the chocolate extravaganza is the last sea day of any cruise...yummy! I missed that somehow!! :( Recently got off the Valor... tear. It was my first cruise and it was awesome! I have nothing bad to say about the Valor. Beautifully decorated and very friendly staff. Our favorite bar area was Jeanne's Wine Bar and the Casino bar! Our regular bartenders were Valeriya and Vasilena, they were our favorites and made us look forward to seeing them every night! Serenity deck area was wonderful, however, we only ended up there after the crowds had left in early evening. But check it out! We also had a great time with Brad at the Piano Bar! If you are a sushi fan, the Togo Sushi bar was pretty good (a great snack before late seating dinner)! Enjoy your time on the Valor! I thought Brad was a lot of fun!!! does anyone know if there are dvd players in the ocean suites on the Valor? the room description says VHS player but I dont even own any VHS tapes and would like to bring a couple of my 3 year olds favorite movies with us. Yes, it is a VCR/VHS combo player

Angel59920 Posted July 23, 2012 #71 Share Posted July 23, 2012 Anybody have any information on the kids club on this ship? If you used them did your kids like it? What time are they open from during the day?
jkjmt Posted August 12, 2012 #72 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Does anyone know if the Valor is getting the 2.0 upgrade in the near future? Considering it for the Southern route Feb 2013. Just got off the Liberty two weeks ago and loved the Red Frog/Blue Iguana and Guy's. We did Liberty in January 2012 with the 2.0 upgrade.....and we're doing Valor this January 2013. No 2.0 upgrade for Valor scheduled until 2014. I asked the same question. :(

How about menus for the 2 formal nights, which one does the prime rib? And which day is the chateaubriand served? Hey There! Lunch is served in the MDR on sea days only (until the Valor get the Punchliner Brunch, which is sometime after our cruise). The first formal night is the prime rib & lobster night and I don't remember when chateaubriand is served. Here is a web site with all the menus, they are current but I'm not sure if he has an 8 day schedule posted! http://www.zydecocruiser.net/menus/CarnivalCruiseLineMenus.htm 33 MORE DAYS! Any other questions, I will try my best to answer them. Any other tips you have for the Valor? We will be sailing in December. This is all great information. Thank you.
