Regatta - Inside Room - What will we be missing?

So we are booked on Regatta with an inside stateroom. Other than the view, what will we be missing from our O experience?

Nothing that I can think of ;)

Our friends book insides all the time & seem to be happy with them

We were very happy with our inside cabin. Less rocking of the ship because you're closer to the center. Quiet, no worries about early or late sun interfering with sleep. And for me, no seasickness watching the horizon move up and down from a window.

Have a great time.

The only things you will be missingare a window, a balcony, a butler and extra reservations for speciality restaurants. Mostly just the window and balcony. you will have thesame itinerary and the same crew as the rest of the passengers.

Being able to step out on the balcony to find out what the temperature is so you know how to dress before you go ashore.

We have cruised many time with our children and always used an inside cabin. We really did not miss having an outside window or balcony as you have all the public decks above to enjoy. The only thing we found is that we needed an alarm clock to wake us up in the morning as it was dark in the cabin and no sun peeking in to tell us it was morning.:D

Are you aware that the inside cabins on the R ships are slightly larger than the standard ocean view?

Not sure how that works

Outsides C& D Cat are 165 sq ft

insides F & G are 160 Sq ft

some exceptions with the C cabins apply

Maybe the H/C insides are larger

That is incorrect. On the R, ships the average Inside cabin measures 156 square feet. The average Oceanview is 165 square feet.

The only outside cabins that are smaller than the insides are the 146 square foot Category E Obstructed View staterooms on Deck 6.

From O's website on R ships (specifically Regatta):

Category F & G (inside) = 160 sq. ft.

Category E (obstructed OV) = 143 sq. ft.

Category D (port hole OV) = 165 sq. ft.

Category C (Deluxe OV unobstructed) = 165 sq. ft.

Category E cabin does not have a sofa and the layout is a little different so the usable walkaround floorspace does not seem much smaller though visually it seems to be.

What will you miss with an inside cabin versus and ocean view? As a previous poster wrote only the daylight. For some that is significant and for others not at all. Some might feel a little closed in while others might feel just happy to be aboard.

The onboard experience will be identical between these two categories. Considerably higher up categories, concierge and above, do get several additional benefits such as priority boarding, extra specialty restaurant reservations and such.

Some people spend a great deal of time in their stateroom and others very little. If you're inclined stay in your cabin you may want that connection with the outside world but either of those two categories would be enjoyable.

Based on everyone's comments it appears that our inside stateroom will not affect our O experience.

We've actually done inside staterooms on other cruiselines --

- We actaully enjoyed the lack of sunlight.

- We spend little time in our stateroom.

Thanks everyone...

Don't forget to attend the "Mouse in a Cathedral Party" where there will be spirited....er......discussions about those people who voluntarily shell out thousands of dollars more just to echo aimlessly around those gigantic, if sunny, Suites.....:p
