Carnival Glory

We are booked on a Canada sailing of the Glory this summer, but rarely see anything on the boards about this ship. Has anyone sailed on the Glory lately? Any impressions or hints? We've sailed on the Destiny and Imagination, but that was many years ago. Thanks!

Its a great ship .I can tell you about some of the food LOL.We love the Pastrami on rye from the deli ( we ate one every single day for either a snack before bed or lunch). We went to the burrito bar as well ( I tipped the guy a buck and said make me what you would eat) and we had a great burrito. The fish and chips are ok alittle greasy for me but they have different things to try like Ceveche.Usually very quiet up there as well. The first day when you get on head right for the mongolian wok ,grab a long Island ice tea from the bar and thank me later :)

P.S bring gym clothes ;)

We just got off the Glory.

try the steakhouse

Creams Cappucinos are fabulous as are all the desserts;)

Great Service for the most part from everyone.

We did notice that if you sat in Olga's section in the MDR -we had anytime and our MDR was the Golden-she was very very quick..the fastest service we had the whole week.

I have posted in other places about our aft cabin and Viktor our cabin steward.

Did you have any specific questions? Happy to answer.

Did you check the member reviews section? I know I've written at least one review of the ship.

It's going to refurb in November I believe. Excellent waterslide.

It is more similar to Destiny than Imagination.

I'm going on the Glory in 46 days for the third time...needless to say I really like this ship. I really don't care about fingerprints or worn carpet, so I cannot comment on that. The service we received from all of the crew was wonderful. The bar waiters, room stewards, dining room waiters, all were great. The food was great also. I don't know if I can say it was the best food I've ever eaten in my entire life, but all was prepared well, served hot, etc. Our room was kept clean. Never encountered any rude crew members. A have to agree that the Creams Cafe is great. They were able to fix my sugar-free hazelnut decaf latte to perfection. It was my "treat" everyday.

You cannot go from the front to the back of the ship on decks 3 and 4 (around midship to aft) because of the galley. You have to either go up to deck 5 or down to 2 to get aft. It's not difficult once you figure it out.

I like the size of this ship, and the captain has been "driving" this ship since she was new and has over 20 yrs experience so I've always felt safe.

The Mongolian Wok is great. I love to pick whatever veggies I like and how much and have it cooked fresh. The ham and cheese sandwich from the deli was great. I've never had the fish and chips but my nieces have and thought it was a bit greasy. The pizza was good, as were the burgers, fries, etx.

There are many activities, as well as many places to escape the crowds. I loved being on deck 10, aft.

I'm sure you'll have a great cruise! Let us know what you think!

It's a great ship and I'd go back on her in a heartbeat. I wasn't crazy about the ports *but I went on the cruise to experience the cruise not the ports. So it could have been my mindset.

The staff was wonderful and so was the food. The long lines at the Mongolian Wok were crazy. I never did get to try it:(

I didn't write a review because I basically sat on my balcony and read. I imagine I wouldn't get any Wow! Great review!

...last year and are sailing on her again this summer!

Mylene in the Colors Lobby Bar made the best drinks, she was my DG's best friend for the whole 7 days! :D We also loved Johnathan, Enrique and Rodrigo, our Filipino Dining Room team!

As others have already said, she has a friendly crew, a jammin' coffee bar, and I really liked the theme/decor of some of the public rooms (Amber Palace, Bar Blue, Ebony Cabaret, Ivory Club etc.) and I really liked the Monopoly theme in Circle C!

Needless to say I can't wait to sail on the Glory again in 104 days! :D

We sailed her last July doing the Canada itinerary. It is a big ship with a weird lay out on 5 that always confused me. I never quite got my bearings on this ship.

My ds liked that Circle C had its own designated space. We enjoyed playing mini golf. My dh liked the casino lay out and where it was located in relation to our cabin. We liked the sushi bar versus just a cart. We didn't ca for the fish and chips and waited in a long line for it. We loved the burrito bar. Mongolian Bar always had a huge line and was open very short hours. I don't care for the pizza, lunch buffet food, or the coffe place. My dh really liked the coffee place. I could go on and on, but my favorite thing on the ship was our aft extended balcony.:D it was so peaceful to sit out there and read. It was very quiet.

Happy sailing!

Crisperjr, do you recall on the Canada cruise on Glory, was the food onboard ie.(seafood) from New England (i hope) lobster//fish etc....? I am from NE and prefer our fish to florida/south seafood. (no offense to anyone). I'm on the glory in June, so just curious if we will be eating maine lobsters, or carribean lobster.?
