Chops Grille

Recommended Posts

Hi looking for some advice/tips on Chops Grille.

We're getting married onboard on April 1st 2013 and was hoping to book a table at Chops rather than having one of the reception options. We dont want to hire it exclusively.

I understand you must book online or whilst onboard- With it being such a special occasion Id rather do this in advance. Checking a few FAQ's regarding Chops it says no more than 6 in one party- there will be 12 of us. Has anyone booked Chops for more than 6 people before?

Also I understand there is a charge of US$30 per person. Is this paid for at the time of booking or does it go on your onboard account? And what does this include? IE 3 course meal?

Last question- does anyone know if I take some decorations for the table would they use them?

Thanks all

Gina xx

The one thing I can tell you is if you book Chops ahead, it has to be paid ahead via credit card, but if you book onboard it can/will go to your account. That is a common frustration of people who have a large amount of Onboard credit, not being able to use it for specialty restaurants or excursions.

We book onboard as soon as we can so we can check out MDR menus and select night that suits us best. They usually have MDR menus there. Be flexible about time and most nights should be available. I strongly suspect they can't accomdoate 12 at one table but might be able to do two sixes adjoining. 12 at a table might be too noisey with people conversiing across longer distance. There and Portofino (depending on ship) they try to maintain the atmosphere.

Meal can be as many courses as you wish but with one main course - so Appitizer, soup, salad, main course, dessert is typical. Best advice is go hungry.

I would call and try to speak to someone competent at RCCL. Their dining/excursion people do not seem to know specific answers, so you may want to ask for a supervisor. We are just off the Allure, and their were two large parties sitting right near us. I do not think that it should be an issue if you speak to the right person. It is your wedding, they should be able to take care of this ahead of time. Chops is great! I also wouldn't be concerned about your party being too large or loud.

Definitely call ahead, no doubt. I would hope they would make some special arrangements just for you. I wouldn't trust anyone but a person to make these reservation (i.e. don't do it online, even if there is a way for that large of a group)...call, call, call
