ok so how does this work.......I have always wanted to and wondered how I go abot getting my passport stamped.

Do you just take it to the Pursers Desk and leave it for the duration of your cruise and then pick it back up on the final night of the cruise??

 

I only asked once and the purser told me to take it to where the customs people were checking people...they weren't there.

Because if you used your S&S card for the safe, it would be possible for Carnival employees to get into the safe easily. After all, they program your S&S card with the information... what's to stop them from making a duplicate. A blank card or gift card has information on the strip they do not have access to. Better to be safe than sorry.

 

More because it demagnitizes the card and your cabin door won't open.

I use a plastic accordion folder too. It has about 10 slots and a legal pad as well as a few card slots.

 

I also use a coil keychain to keep my S&S card around my wrist. Had casino lanyard on first cruise and it annoyed me. [ATTACH]238216[/ATTACH]

 

I have a carnival lanyard made of cloth they gave me a while ago. I take a hole punch in my carry on. As soon as I get my card I punch a hole in it being careful not to punch the end that goes into the door or the strip and put it on my lanyard. I don't lose it this way. In the cabin I hang it on the door handle so I remember to take it every time I leave.

 

Great for kids who might lose theirs. My son lost his 3 times in one day until I got him a lanyard.

Two medium sized fans, raw aloe Vera jel, antibiotic soap (for cabin and carry to ports), a box of junior mints and Mike & Ike's, reusable cup with straw, extra batteries, an awesome playlist to include 32 hours of slow jam for adult activities and a sexy lunch/breakfast/brunch on the balcony, a naughty book to read to my husband at night, and seven pieces of lingerie for each night........because he paid for this cruise.

Ladies: travel can play havoc with your cycle, so always bring whatever you use for "your time of the month," even if it won't be "your time of the month" during the cruise! We did not follow this advice and found out the hard way that the selection in the gift shop is sparse at best, and very expensive to boot!

 

Also, if you have long hair, bring hair conditioner, as none is supplied in the cabin unless you get a free sample in the gift basket.

But here is my list:

 

Other than the usual things to pack, i.e..clothes, shoes, toiletries... Here is a list I've compiled to pack and other pertinent things to do.

 

 

• Passport & ID

• Cruise documents and boarding pass

• Cash and Credit Card (very minimum is $100 per person per day)

• Health insurance card/prescription card

• Over the door shoe organizer (for toiletries, shoes, other stuff. The room has limited counter space)

• Gum, candy, snacks, etc (very expensive on the ship and at ports)

• Medicine (Tylenol, ginger pills for sea-sickness, stomach meds)

• Power strip (only 1 plug in the room)

• Small bottle Lysol or travel pack of Lysol/Clorox wipes (used to wipe/disinfect room/bathroom)

• Air freshener ( I use the trees that go in the car)

• Sun Screen

• Bottled water, soda, and 1 bottle of wine per person

• A small empty duffle bag to pack souvenirs and other stuff that was purchased

• A blank gift card or any blank card with magnetic strip. (used for the safe in the room)

• Hand sanitizer

• Sunglasses

• One dollar bills for extra tips (porters, room service, taxi drivers, etc)

• Chargers (cell phone, iPod, camera’s)

• Powdered drink packs (instant coffee, crystal light, etc)

• Wine opener if you bring the allowable 1 bottle of wine

• Locks for your suitcase(s)

• Call your credit card company to let them know you are traveling out of the country so they don’t deny charges

• Stop the mail and/or newspaper at your house (holdmail.usps.com)

• Call your cell phone provider and have them add international to make calls Internationally. Tell them you are going on a cruise.

• Carnivals Emergency phone number to give to others to call you on the ship. 1-877-225-7447.

 

Whatever you do, PLEASE DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE we made on our 1st Cruise a few yrs ago. It was SO embarrassing that people were taking pictures of our luggage like we were the Clampetts. I remember hearing one lady saying, "My parents aren't gonna believe this"!

I overpacked on my 1st cruise too, but have to ask....how many people were on cruise with you ??? I pack less every time but still take too much.

This was luggage for 8 people in 4 Cabins... I alone, had 2 large suitcases, 2 rolled garmet bag, 1 carryon, and 1 carnival bag filled with souvenirs and junk. Since then I have been on 2 more, and will be on another in Jan, and I carry less and less as well. I'm down to 3 lg suitcase, 1 small carryon.

I always take ear plugs, spray for the bathroom, a small fan (room never gets cool enough for me),bonine -just in case of rough waters, playing cards, extra glasses and sun glasses, small first aid kit and a roll of duct tape !! The duct tape has come in handy twice so far. Once at last minute to repair a hem and on another cruise to hold a suitcase with a broken zipper together.

 

This reminds me of a pre-wedding incident that I didn't find out about until I came back from my honeymoon. One of my bridesmaids tore her hem coming down the stairs at my house. My ever-ingenious mother taped it! I don't think she used duct tape, though! No one told me about it because they didn't want to stress me out. Good call, I say.

Put Him first and all else will fall in place.

 

Love seeing just how deep those sins have been tossed! Puts into perspective trying to reclaim them!

Pump hand sanitizer

Pump anti bacterial soap

Mini hand sanitzers

Clothes pins for hanging things to dry in the bathroom and balcony and they won't blow off.

Stick Up's or Renuzits usually 2 one first of the week and one for mid week.

Kitchen drawstring trash bags

Ziplock bags

Fill a travel bottle with liquid laundry detergent

Tide stain stick

Sometimes a travel bottle with liquid dish soap to wash out soda cups etc. (RCI and DCL)

Ear plugs

Little flash lights and extra batteries

Depending on the ship little travel alarm clock

Small Collapsible cooler

If traveling with a group I take scotch tape to tape notes to doors

I always take a pad of paper and sharpie too leave notes for family or my husband in our cabin.

This. We picked up a cool Belkin travel surge protector for about $15 last year that has 3 outlets plus 2 USB ports for charging phones, iPad, our Kodak waterproof camera, etc. It worked out great.

 

I LOVE that device! Great for charging everything and easy to pack.

Some people are DIABETIC and insulin dependent. When their blood-sugar drops, they don't have time or the ability to get dressed quickly and walk (run) the length of the ship and wait in line for a quick "sugar-picker-upper"..... and room service is not that fast.

The insulin dependent diabetics I know (Several in my family) carry a little pack of mints or hard candy or sugar packets with them for emergencies ALL THE TIME. Some have fast-acting glucose tablets or the little packets of glucose specifically for this purpose. No matter where they are, they do not have time to search for something.

We always pack a large manila envelope, two pieces of cardboard that fit inside the envelope. That way, if we purchase photos they can be placed in between the cardboard and put in the envelope.

 

On our first cruise, a really nice photo of ours got bent in the suitcase on the flight home. I could never completely get that crease out. The cardboard and envelope save us from that happening again.
