Has anyone ever rented a car under this plan? I was curious of booking it after my Miami cruise and driving to a relative in Atlanta. Were there any hidden costs?

I believe it is for pick up and drop off at specific locations. I imagine they need cars at the drop off points.

 

Your best bet is to check with the agency. Maybe they need cars where you are headed.

As the tourist season winds down in FLA they need the cars moved north to other cities -- it is a great deal as long as your dates and final destination match what they need. Good luck! :)

I did it several years ago, from Florida to Ohio. Flew down one-way on SouthWest. They even let you pay the token rate and use the car for several extra days. Promotion is used by the various companies to move the cars North after the peak tourist season.

I rented under this type of plan. Picked up a car in Orlando and took it to Miami the week before the super bowl in Miami. The only surprise was the taxes and fees, aprox $15 per day.
