Pre cruise hotel in Copenhagen

We are all booked and paid with our new travel agent-final confirmation yesterday. It was worth the hassle to change to an experienced cruise agency. We now have a gratuities package and on board credits. Our air arrangement requires one night free accomodation in Copenhagen. Do any of you know which hotel(s) Oceania uses pre cruise and whether we will have a choice? Our air deviation had been confirmed and we will arrive one day earlier so that first night will be at our own expense, the second night paid for by Oceania. Will it be the Marriott or???? The recent reviews have been very mixed.

We were given the free hotel night, too when we booked. Since we wanted to stay more than one night, we took the $500 credit for not using the hotel and booked one more centrally located. This was in Barcelona, but I think the $500 credit is for any European port.

We stayed at the Hotel Imperial last summer for two nights before our Copenhagen departure. It is a little shabby, but it is air conditioned and very well located. The prices were quite reasonable, too. A couple of blocks away is the Hotel Square. It it even better located, but the area around it is quite noisy, so you have to be very careful to ask for an interior room.

We spent two nights pre-cruise last June at The Square and were very satisfied with the location, the room, the breakfast, the front desk service, and most of all, the excellent a/c. To avoid noise issues, simply request a room on a high floor facing the side street rather than City Hall Square itself (and most rooms do face the side street). There is an enormous amoung of construction, both street and buildings, going on now in central Copenhagen, so it definitely was not as lovely as on my previous visit in June 2007. That time I stayed near Nyhavn at The Admiral Hotel, but never again will I visit Copenhagen without a hotel with good a/c!

We managed to snare the Marriott for $105 a night on Priceline last year, having learned about that option on CC. At the time it was the only four star hotel in the central city subject to bidding, not sure if that's the case this year. Rooms are large, clean, and comfortable. We chose not to have breakfast there, but to visit the wonderful pastry shops instead. Location is not as central as the Imperial or Square, but a short cab ride away.

We stayed at the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel ..it is a bit of a walk from the city centre but a quiet location

It is past the Marriott so if walking is a problem then you may want to stay at a hotel closer to City Hall

It took us about 15-20 min walk or there is a bus

Watch for the bicycles they have the right of way ;)
