CanWeGoYet? Posted April 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 27, 2012 I forgot to call the doctors office to request scop patches for the cruise. Only 1 more week day before I leave & with tomorrow being a typical busy friday at work - don't know if I'll manage to get through to them on the phone. I know a couple years ago I was able to buy a scopalamine patch over the counter in Victoria. Can anyone tell me if they are still available to purchase with no prescription? I just want to make sure things haven't changed, before I make this my fall back plan.
Wendy The Wanderer Posted April 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 27, 2012 I don't know the answer, but I do know that last time I checked, Bonamine (meclizine), was not available here, at least not in Ontario (might be in B.C.) So if Bonine is a backup plan, buy it at home before you leave.
sail7seas Posted April 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 27, 2012 I read a while ago there was a shortage of the Scopalamine patches in U.S. and many pharmacies did not have any. Hopefully they have been restocked but don't waste any time looking for them if you want to bring some along.
jmwg49 Posted April 28, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 28, 2012 I bought them here in Ontario in February...they are behind the counter though, so you will have to ask for them
CanWeGoYet? Posted April 28, 2012 Author #5 Share Posted April 28, 2012 Thanks everyone. The stars aligned for me & the office got the Rx faxed in to the pharmacy all in 1 call - & it was so busy at work I knew I wouldn't have time to call & check to see if they did it / if the pharmacy actually got the rx. All filled, but good to know for next time. :)
