I stayed at the Imperial Hotel back in 1977. I remember her being a Grand Dame of hotels back then and I just adored being there. The clientele was so International ... from African to Arabian to Asian to European ... everyone dressed in their cultural clothing and chatting in their own languages in the elevators ... businessmen and socialites alike. It was a heady experience, most especially in the evening during the cocktail hour in the bar. I don't think I have experienced such scintillating conversation since. :)

CMH MARINE, did you arrange your lodging/transfers via your travel agent or with Silversea? I'm doing this exact cruise in May 2014.
