Grand Cayman snorkeling – cruise ship day

Cruising in August with my Mom (she is late 70s). Looking for a beach with facilities for her which include a chair and shade and off shore snorkeling for me. I am a diver and strong swimmer. Need to be able to get there by taxi. 10AM – 2PM is time on beach. Suggestions?

Seagrape has the facilities you need, but I'm not sure how the snorkeling is there....

 

Does you mom really want to go to the beach? Staying on the ship is a lovely option, as everything but the shops and casino will be up and running...and no crowds at all!

 

By the way, there is a bus ($2.50 pp) that is right off the dock area to take you quickly to any of the access points on the beach!

I'm not sure what other suggestions you're looking for. You've been given all available options here and from your post on Trip Advisor.

 

Take your Mom to Royal Palms where she can have access to a chair and facilities and you can wander down to the Marriott to snorkel the reef balls.

 

Calico Jacks and Tiki Beach are clubs that have facilities, but can't comment on the snorkeling

 

Or go to Cemetery Beach where it is shaded, but no facilities. Excellent snorkeling.

This is a great place to dive or snorkel and I believe your mom will be comfortable here.

Just be advised, there is no beach at Sunset House, just ironshore (i.e. rock).
