VT Hokie Cruiser Posted May 27, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2012 The current Princess Memorial Day sale that runs thru May 29 specifically says it's for more than 80 cruises that sail Sept.-Dec. 2012. We are close to booking a Panama Canal cruise for March 8, 2013 and it appears that the same type of discount is also being extended to the March 8 cruise -- around $350 per person for a balcony. It isn't clear from the Princess website if this price drop is tied to the Memorial Day sale that's about to expire. It just shows up on that date. No mention of a sale. Is it likely that the price drop is temporary and will revert back on May 29? Thanks.
cherylandtk Posted May 27, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2012 Your cruise is not part of the sale. Launch fare pricing for your cruise is also higher than the launch fare pricing for the 2012 cruises of same length, and your cruise is showing 'balcony for the price of an OV' rates, which is a different promotion. There is no way to predict when rates may change, up or down, but it is certain that Princess will be running additional sales before your cruise final payment is due. Just be aware that there are special NRNT rules for deposits under these specific date sales.

But the sale prices later may still be higher than the price you can book for now. It is a matter of supply and demand and that is something we cannot predict.
