SNJCruisers Posted August 30, 2012 #301 Share Posted August 30, 2012 I will be taking advantage of the program as well if it is in place! As for the bar situation - I will share with you the "theme chant" for my sons HS Football team this year (after an awesome season last year - the best in the HS's history) the Coach has come up with .... "We don't rebuild, we reload"....I believe that is the theme for cruise ships as well :) I just looked up your itinerary. I see you are doing the 6 Day to Grand Turk and Ocho Rios.....I really love both of these ports! I will be on an 8 Day sailing with 4 days at sea.....my favorite # of days/sea days on a cruise! I am very much looking forward to this sailing. I try to post a review after I sail with photos but this will not help you since you will be waving hello as I wave goodbye! :D Yes, our itinerary includes 3 days at sea with visits to Grand Turk and Montego Bay, not Ocho Rios. The usual 6 day sailing goes to Ocho Rios and Nassau....we save on the port charges to Nassau, which is great because I would have stayed on the ship anyway. The sailing that we are on was the cheapest sailing available from November 2012 through all available 2013 sailings that originate in Miami. Including the discount we received, we're only paying 412 pp including taxes for the cruise. So, we can use the savings for the My Awesome Bar Program. It will be the best of my 17 cruises on Carnival since we'll be sailing on the best and newest ship and we will not have to be hesitant about having a shot here or there and splurging with some Bailey's in our coffee after dinner. DEL67 Posted August 30, 2012 #307 Share Posted August 30, 2012 Depending upon whether the ship is at sea or in port does effect the choices that you have for dining. The least amount of choices are at breakfast and at dinner. For breakfast, there is either room service, or the Lido buffet, or sit down in the main dining room, which is open seating. On sea days, the other dining room will also have the Punchliners Comedy Brunch, which has it's own specific menu, here's the link.http://www.carnival.com/~/media/CCLUS/Images/pdf/PunchlinerBrunchMenupdf.ashx Choices include a filet mignon covered with 2 fried eggs, bernaise sauce, grilled tomatoes and home fries or how about funny french toast, which is french toast encrusted with fruit loops or frosted flakes. These are two of the unique dishes available. At dinner, your choices are either the Lido buffet, the main dining room, the 35.00 surcharge steakhouse or the 12.00 surcharge cucina del capitano. Lunch is where the most choices are...they include the cucina del capitano, which has a pasta bar for free, or you have Guy's Burgers, Mongolian Wok, Pizza, Deli, Jimmy's C-side BBQ (sea days only) Gourmet Hot Dogs (forgot the name, will start once ship gets to Miami), the Blue Iguana Cantina, the MDR and the Lido buffet. There is also the Bonzai Sushi, the Taste Bar, which has appetizers for free with a reduced price drink that goes with it and finally there are pay for appetizers at the Red Frog Pub. I'm sure I missed some options, but this is all I can think of off the top of my head at 1230 in the morning, LOL. On our cruise, regular bgreakfast was not available in the main diningroom on sea days. It did not open until 9:30 for the Punchliner Bruch. Other lunch options included the Tandori Grill and the Comfort Station.

And the Punchliner's Brunch is not in Cucina del Capitano. And this is the itinerary that we did on the Valor...Grand Caymans, Roatan, Belize, and Cozumel. If you are doing the same itinerary, I have a great list for private excursions if you'd like it. And our Ruby cruise was a 10 night cruise to the Caribbean and it was wonderful. Maybe this is something that will start once the Breeze crosses the pond and starts embarking from Miami. I had read this repeatedly as well......what I had read was that any ship with 2 MDR's would have Punchliners in one and a regular breakfast/hours in the other on Sea Days. Port days would stay as usual with one MDR open for breakfast only (no lunch). In my experience the breakfast hours in the MDR have always been adjusted slightly due to Port arrival times....if we had an early arrival time the Breakfast would open earlier to accommodate for this. I am very interested to hear how this is being implemented in actuality. Personally, I like Punchliners and I don't think I have ever gone to MDR for breakfast on a Sea Day on any cruise BUT I know that this is a different case for many other folks! I sailed on the Miracle 5/30 and Punchliners was the only option on Sea Days (Spirit Class ship with 1 MDR) so that is my only experience since this started. I loved the Brunch option , by the way, and did go 2 of our Sea Days.

Ships Carnival Miracle Carnival Breeze The Punchliner Comedy Club presented by George Lopez, is part of a partnership with the popular comedian who serves as the line’s ‘curator of comedy,’ acting as a consultant on the vetting and hiring of both established and up-and-coming comedic talent. For those who prefer a little merriment in the morning, there’s the new Punchliner Comedy Brunch presented by George Lopez, which offers up heaping servings of laughter along with a new twist on the traditional culinary feast. Taking place on sea days in the main dining room, The Punchliner Comedy Brunch is a free dining option that features five-to six-minute performances each hour by hilarious comedians who entertain guests as they enjoy a variety of delicious mid-morning favorites prepared by Carnival’s master chefs. Many items are inspired by Lopez’s Mexican heritage, including Carne y Huevos – filet mignon topped with two eggs and béarnaise sauce; Hen Alla Diavola, grilled chicken with lemon and pepper and Mexican-style churros. Two special ‘George’s Recipes’ dishes created by the comedian himself – his own take on Huevos Rancheros that features a chicken quesadilla topped with fried eggs and manchego cheese, and a breakfast burrito filled with scrambled eggs, beans and chorizo are also offered. Appropriately enough, menu item descriptions have a comedic slant, as well, with playful interpretations of traditional brunch offerings that are listed under categories such as Opening Act with dishes that include Flamin’ Tomatoes Soup and Caesar Salad; Headliners featuring Funny French Toast, Pappardelle Pasta, and Mac & Cheese available with applewood smoked bacon, chicken or steak; and Punchline, a decadent dessert menu with caramelized cheesecake, banana crème pie and other confections. A variety of custom-made omelettes, as well as standards like Eggs Benedict and sides are also available. The menu features a Bloody Mary Bar offering several variations of the traditional brunch-time favorite; beverage charges will apply. Brunch will be served on sea days, 9:30am-2:00pm in the Forward Dining Room. On the Spirit-Class ships where there is only one Dining Room, regular breakfast and lunch menus will not be offered. twinbee Posted September 1, 2012 #319 Share Posted September 1, 2012 Hi everyone! I am cruising on the Breeze in November 2013. My question is for anyone that has already cruised her. I am wheelchair dependent. From some of the pictures I have been seeing of the Breeze (serenity and buffet area) look very crowded and narrow. Do you think I will have a problem "fitting" in these areas with my wheelchair?
higgib Posted September 1, 2012 #320 Share Posted September 1, 2012 I was on the Breeze recently, and from what I could see, you should be fine. Granted, if one does not have a disability it is not always easy to tell these things, but there were several people aboard in wheelchairs and motorized scooters, and I saw them everywhere! Might also be an idea to post some questions on the speciality/cruising with a disability boards, as some folk with specific knowledge may also be able to help you. Have a brilliant cruise!:)
