Lottycruiser Posted June 30, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 30, 2012 I have never seen a list of the cocktails that Royal serve , so am wondering what everyone's favourite is and what is in it . Linda .
iloverags2 Posted June 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 30, 2012 I have no clue what it is called, but on our at sea day on the Monarch they had an incredible rum drink (some kind of rum punch maybe?) served in a hollowed out pineapple. So, so very yummy!
PIGSKIN Posted June 30, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 30, 2012 Go to the following web page----this couple has a great page for menus, compasses and their review with photos. http://www.thepreismans.com.. They have a great photo of the whole bar menu so you can see photos of the drinks and what is in them. When you get to their site--just look under the Allure. northcove Posted June 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 30, 2012 I'm taking my first Royal cruise next week and assuming they'll have traditional Mojitos (and they're as good as my DH makes them). 2 oz white rum 2 oz lime juice 1 tsp sugar (I use 1 1/2) 4 mint leaves 2 oz club soda and of course lots of ice. we use cubes, not shaved. crush leaves with sugar and lime juice (use a mortar and pestle for this if you can). Add the rum, then the club soda. My favorite drink in teh summer. I'm sure everyone here knows how to make a Mojito, but there's so many variations and I think I must have tried them all :D . This one I like best though.

TxKroozer Posted June 30, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 30, 2012 Long Island Style that is. Rum, vodka, gin, triple sec, sweet n sour, and a splash of coke. The last cruise they even started throwing in tequila again.
cruiseguy1016 Posted June 30, 2012 #10 Share Posted June 30, 2012 I am a big fan of Bahama Mamas. That is the drink that I have as soon as I get on the ship. It puts me in "Cruise Mode". Rum, coconut rum, orange juice, pineapple juice, grenadine.

Seatravelers Posted June 30, 2012 #12 Share Posted June 30, 2012 My absolutely favorite drinks are on the Oasis. Cucumber martini in 150 Central Park and fresh Raspberry Mojito in Solarium Bistro. The different sangrias in Giovanni's at lunch are good as well but the other 2, amazing, imho.

foxgoodrich Posted June 30, 2012 #14 Share Posted June 30, 2012 On every cruise, I make it a personal challenge to determine which bar on the ship makes the best Mojito! This research involves having at least 2 or 3 Mojitos each day...and making a real effort to hit all the bars. This is a piece of cake on the smaller ships. But our next cruise will be our first time on Allure in August. I am somewhat daunted by the sheer number of bars, and all the stuff we've already planned and reserved (which seems to require that I make a daily calendar type planning document to keep it all straight.) And there's the risk of over-indulging and creating an alcohol induced disability, which might impair my ability to enjoy the ship and the ports. So if anybody has done this type of scientific Mojito research on Allure, please help me narrow down the field.:D Judy P.S. I've already made note of the Raspberry Mojito in the Solarium Bistro - thanks!:)

besberry Posted June 30, 2012 #16 Share Posted June 30, 2012 On my last cruise I asked the bartender to surprise me. He did, with a pomegranite cosmo. It was great, but the real surprise was the $12.36 price tag!

nonibop Posted June 30, 2012 #20 Share Posted June 30, 2012 We like the original, taste the alcohol not the syrupy flavouring, cocktails. Long island iced tea, Royal martini and margaritas.
sjb317 Posted June 30, 2012 #21 Share Posted June 30, 2012 My favorite is the Italian Tea. It is similar to a Long Island but does not have the coke and it is very potent! One will knock you on your. . . :D Sherri:)

Chocolate martinis............................fabulous. I like mine with chocolate vodka so they are clear. In our family we refer to them as Chicklet Martoonis, since they are pretty strong.
