Links On Right of This Forum Page ??

Am I the only one seeing the new stuff on the right side of this board (or has it always been there and I just haven't frequented this forum that much - but sure it's new (crazy?).

 

It makes everything on this forum squished to the left of the page. I only seem to see it on this RCL forum??

It's been that way for a few weeks now. There is an older thread that many posted to when it first changed.

Its annoying isnt it.....is there a way of adjusting the settings ourselves? or are we stuck with it as the powers that be think its a good idea? :(

personally can't stand it...if I want to see ads I'll look elsewhere.

I looked around at a few different forums, and this problem only seems to be on the Royal Caribbean related forums (Celebrity, Azamara, etc). These new ads are driving me crazy as well! :( A third of my screen on these forums has been taken away thanks to them.

It's awful! But I guess that's the way this website makes its money - on advertising. Don't worry about all of us who use the site, just cram as many ads as you can.

yup, i stayed away from Royal forum and kept to NCL's one, as that one does not have the annoying right side links!

One way to kinda make it disappear is the change your screen fonts by holding down the "ctrl" key and hitting the "+" key to enlarge your fonts. :) It makes it easier to read, especially for those eyes over 40 :)

Okay so I'm not crazy. Odd that it's just RCL forum.

Just want to check if I am seeing the same as you guys as is does not bother me at all. Maybe an upgrade to an wide angle screen is needed for some? (every excuse to buy a new pc is good for me ;) lol )

Yep, seeing the same as us. Not so bad on a wide screen laptop, but on an iPad, yuk, so squashed, but as said, it's the price we pay to keep the boards free of charge.

I just turn my iphone or ipad sideways and just resize the screen so the ads aren't visible. Then just open the threads in a new tab and it stays resized!

 

I just find it weird that the ads are for TripAdvisor (cruise critics sister forum) and the other ad is for Royal Caribbean (why would they need to pay to advertise on their own branded forum?) they should put their ad on the NCL boards to steal customers!!!
