77Network Posted July 9, 2012 #101 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Two dinners in a specialty restaurant (not even on the night of your choice) = $50 100 minute package for Internet = $55 For two people (two packages) = $110 Great tradeoff. Remember to also subtract the value of the normal dinner which is taken away from you by chooing to eat the one in the speciality restaurant. 1 HappyCruiser Posted July 9, 2012 #102 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Remember to also subtract the value of the normal dinner which is taken away from you by chooing to eat the one in the speciality restaurant. People seem to forget about that angle and if the food in the dining room is very good why spend the extra money?
caribill Posted July 9, 2012 #103 Share Posted July 9, 2012 I just checked the link and it doesn't say free internet packages. I just checked it and it says "Full suite passengers also enjoy complimentary web access in the Internet Café and via wi-fi, laundry and dry cleaning, use of the Lotus Spa® Thermal Suite (on select ships), one-time free mini-bar setup and use of our Disembarkation Lounge." caribill Posted July 9, 2012 #104 Share Posted July 9, 2012 I researched it, but since I'm in a suite, didn't worry too much about it till now. Are the bonus minutes on embarkation day the same as prepurchasing? We leave in a week, so I need to make a decision soon. Thanks. Twice as many bonus minutes if you pre-purchase vs. purchasing the first day on board. Personally I would not spend the money now in case you still get the free minutes on your cruise. caribill Posted July 9, 2012 #105 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Interesting that the new suite amenities list does mention "Select Grand Suites also feature personal computer, wet bar and fireplace". I guess the select grand suites have a personal computer for decoration purposes now.

CRUZER2012 Posted July 9, 2012 #107 Share Posted July 9, 2012 Who said anything about canceling:confused: I'm not going to cancel. I want to go on the cruise. I just a little po'd that they wont be honoring bookings made before the policy change. Especially when my cruise is paid off..... Bob Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD Bob, Perhaps their onboard software cannot make a distinction between a booking made pre and post policy change. I do think that anything offered with a cabin at time of booking should be provided no matter what the policy change may be at some future date. This is a personal preference on my part, but I have better things to do on a cruise than log into the internet and a SLLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWW internet connection at that. Bandwidth needs to be increased. On any cruise, the number of people using the internet is variable. You have your Platinums and Elites who are given complimentary limited internet usage. Plus, anyone can purchase internet packages. Maybe they loaded Princess screen saver with pictures of ships and ports of call for your viewing pleasure.:D You can always logon to your circle account or book a future cruise without having to pay for internet service. spyro1952 Posted July 9, 2012 #109 Share Posted July 9, 2012 I am a little upset with this whole internet thing as I am taking a friend as my guest in a WS on the CB in April. Since this is a repo cruise, the WS was very inexpensive and I booked it a while ago. I, like Bob, work 2 jobs so I can cruise a lot. I work exclusively on line so I thought getting a suite would be a good deal for this particular cruise since my friend will also want to be emailing her family. WRONG!! I'll keep this booking as a suite but since I cruise solo most of the time, I'll buy my minutes ahead of time and book inside rooms.

kcampl1 Posted July 12, 2012 #111 Share Posted July 12, 2012 I sent a "concerned" email to Princess customer relations yesterday and received the following reply today: For those passengers who have a suite booking made prior to July 15, 2012, we will honor the offer of complimentary internet for that voyage. Please see the Passenger Services Desk during your cruise and they will waive any internet charges. We look forward to welcoming you onboard. Sincerely, Princess Cruises Customer Relations Specialist customerrelations@princesscruises.com That is the type of response I would expect from Princess. Honoring the complimentary internet when a booking is made prior to policy change makes sense. Note: The response says booking, not final payment date. SeattleCruiselover Posted July 17, 2012 #114 Share Posted July 17, 2012 Can all of you who are cancelling your suites because of the no Internet rule contact me so I can book your room... :D:D:D Bad news.....I'm keeping my Grand Suite for Glacier Bay next year. Besides my 150 minutes Elite internet bene will be fine, so long as that doesn't disappear, too. After all, I don't WANT people to know where I am/how to reach me when I am hiding aboard ship for a week. ;)
