Anybody been on Capt Larry Whale Watching?

Has anybody done this tour? We're looking at it for our trip in September. What did you see? How roomy/stable was the boat? Any info would be appreciated.

Robert, I have also booked with captn. Larry for sept. We are going on the Diamond Princess on the 10th. We also booked a helicopter glacier landing with them, I have read nothing but great reviews

You need to look back at some old posts here. Capt Larry/Orca Enterprises is one of the most often seen threads and one of the most recommended tours, and there is everything you ever wanted to know about them. It is a 42' purple jet boat and he carries 23 passengers only. He has been doing this for some 20yrs and Juneau is a 100% sightings area for humpbacks and sometimes orcas. They give you a smoked salmon, crackers, drink snack and are very good people to deal with. They can also arrange helecoptor glacier landings and Mendenhall Glacier drop offs or pick ups.

We'll be on board the Awesome Orca June 1 and we can't wait. We also scheduled our Coastal Helicopter flight afterwards through them and kayaking in Ketchikan, too.

I have gone with Orca Enterprises many times with a double trip next week. Humpbacks are seen 100% of the trips with orcas on average only coming in every 5-10 days. He has a new boat coming out in July I believe?? But his purple boat, has an open back deck, and upper ladder accessable deck when stoped for a few people. As stated max 23 people.

If you are going in September you will definitely have an opportunity to go on the new boat aka the "Orca Odysea".. THey were in Seattle checking it out a couple of weeks ago and it's on schedule for July delivery! Rates will stay the same at least for this season.. new boat holds 40 and is fully ADA compliant.
