I'm with JID on this one. Before you leave home make sure you have a $20 bill and a $10 bill. Just give it to the guy and call it a day so you don't have that awkward moment of the cabbie hunting for change. Keep in mind your poor driver was probably in an airport queue for 2 hours or more before he got to pick you up at the airport.

DH gave the driver $28 on our last ride a couple months ago. We had carryons only.

I always carry $20 in singles when traveling. No problem with tipping where we feel appropriate.

 

Don't think we would ever consider how long a driver was in line before we showed up. :confused:
