boltnut55 Posted May 12, 2005 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2005 My drink of choice is iced tea with lemon and my special concoction of sugar/Equal, but if I have it for dinner, I'm gonna have problems sleeping (dinner is at 8:30!). Is it reasonable for me to ask my waiter to brew a decaffeinated iced tea for me every night? I swear I'll tip him more! I know the service is very good, but I don't want to be unreasonable. And is iced tea free? I've been told tea, coffee, milk and juice are. I'll be on the Celebrity Infinity. Thanks.

Just ask for a cup of decaffeinated tea and a large glass of ice - this is what DH does in a Chinese restaurant with the tea they serve there as he likes it iced. Might have to get two cups of ice, but it is freshly brewed and actually much better than what is usually served (reconstituted from concentrate). And, yes, the iced tea is free. boltnut55 Posted May 15, 2005 Author #3 Share Posted May 15, 2005 I'm totally willing to do that if they can't (if it's already premade in a big container, for example). Thanks!
wrp96 Posted May 15, 2005 #4 Share Posted May 15, 2005 They don't have decaffenated iced tea on the ships. The suggestion of brewing a cup of hot tea and pouring it over ice is what I do to get iced tea when I really want it. This works pretty well. I do it at home as well because I don't drink caffeine at all.

Wer2pats Posted July 10, 2005 #6 Share Posted July 10, 2005 Ask for it once and they will have it ready for you each night. Works for me.
Krazy Kruizers Posted July 15, 2005 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2005 When we get to the dining room, I always ask for decaffanted tea right away. After the first night our waiter always brought the tea right to the table as he handed me my menu. Then when he brings the first course he brings a large glass of ice. Works every time. mommykim Posted July 17, 2005 #8 Share Posted July 17, 2005 Don't forget to put a spoon into the glass of ice before you pour the hot water into it if they give you a real glass. It keeps the glass from breaking.
