The on again, off again love affair of Carnival & Mobile... a new chapter?

Interesting...will have to ask my friend about that! I'm sure they would love to have a ship in port there again.

Driving through Mobile a couple of weeks ago was the worst! Sat in traffic on the West side of the tunnel for over an hour. We've driven through there several times but this was awful.

Pipe dream for Mobile..According to the news this week - they are trying to get anything as the cruise terminal is costing around $5k a day and they can only manage to book proms and mardi gras events. The tax payers are taking a bath on a bad investment. As a result of the lost of Mobile we have to go out of NOLA.

Which line sails out of Houston? Thanks

Currently Carnival has 2 ships year round and Royal Caribbean, Princess and Disney are sailing winters from Galveston.

Princess will be moving to the Houston (Bayport) terminal in 2013 ans NCL will be there in 2014 - both just seasonal.

I think Airbus building their final assembly plant in Mobile takes a bit of the sting away. They had a good 7 year run, though. In the beginning, it's kind of hard to see that it might be a bad investment when you don't know that it will unravel 7 years down the road.
