FloridaGram Posted August 3, 2012 #26 Share Posted August 3, 2012 I do this too. I am a self professed Diet Cokaholic. I am at the pool bar first thing in the morning buying my sticker (I drink diet coke, not coffee). I agree, I don't want to pay for 'half' a day. So you really have to pay for the last day? That is almost enough to make me not want to get it. They get you whenever they can don't they?

prattmom Posted August 3, 2012 #29 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks for the pic, Tricia! They didn't have them on my last cruise. Everyone wanted to know where we got ours! We have the old red ones, but 2 are cracked :(

roykirk1 Posted August 3, 2012 #31 Share Posted August 3, 2012 How much is a soda without the card? How many sodas do I need to average per day to break even? Thanks in advance!
oldrailfan Posted August 3, 2012 #32 Share Posted August 3, 2012 I just came on to this thread, so you may already have this information, because I haven't read the whole thread. You can buy the "Bottomless Bubbles" through the Bon Voyage department before you cruise, but you have to do it by telephone, it's not available on the website. Also, It's per person/per day and you need to give them the name and cabin number of each passenger you're buying for. (I noticed that someone has posted the rates already, so I won't go over them again) Make sure that you ask specifically for the "Bottomless Bubbles," or they'll try to sell you the four-drink beverage coupon that IS available on the website. If you do wait until you're aboard, I seem to remember that the stickers were available in the Lido bars as soon as we boarded, but that could be different on other ships. Something to think about, if you buy through Bon Voyage you have to wait until you get into your cabin to get the BV letter and instructions where to redeem it. You're sitting up on the Lido until then anyway, where coffee, tea, iced tea, and water are available for free.
oldrailfan Posted August 3, 2012 #33 Share Posted August 3, 2012 How much is a soda without the card? How many sodas do I need to average per day to break even? Thanks in advance! IIRC, the "magic number" is three.
oldrailfan Posted August 3, 2012 #34 Share Posted August 3, 2012 The cup. Worth every penny We've got red ones, and we've got green ones. Last time we were on Fascination, they had yellow ones for sale but we had brought our "greens" along, so we didn't get any. At any rate, they ARE worth it, and we use ours all the time, both on and off ship. (and after the cruise is over...)
wrigley80 Posted August 3, 2012 #35 Share Posted August 3, 2012 I always buy ours as soon as we get onboard. We walk through the doors of the atrium and straight to the atrium bar to get our first diet coke of the cruise :p
twindaddy Posted August 3, 2012 #36 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Sounds like we need a Diet Coke addicts cruise! I like the idea, I dont trust Pepsi drinkers. About the cup you buy, if I bring that to a bar, will they fill it with soda? I might do that and bring it into the MDR, I hear the bar waiters can be spotty
roykirk1 Posted August 3, 2012 #37 Share Posted August 3, 2012 IIRC, the "magic number" is three. THANKS! Very helpful to know! I'm the only soda drinker in our group... hmmm... it'll be close. I usually have soda twice a day, for lunch and for dinner. But often I'll get a second cup with one of the meals...
Shaded Lady Posted August 3, 2012 #38 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Sodas are $1.95 plus 15% gratuity. The cups are great... Insulated and sturdy. And yes you can fill them at he bar and take them into dinner. Most nights we found that the bar steward would see the cups, ask 'Bottomless. Bubbles?' and then just keep them refilled. Only one night had trouble getting a soda in the MDR. My hubby was thrilled to find out they also have Coke Zero...
CruisingQueen101 Posted August 3, 2012 #39 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Thanks! Is this bigger than 16 oz? It is a functional souvenir! It's 14 oz & I agree with the pp that it's worth every penny. I even bought the hot version from the coffee shop & am using it daily for my coffee.
la2kw Posted August 4, 2012 #40 Share Posted August 4, 2012 I buy mine on my way to lunch the first day. I like my soda, and I don't think saving a few bucks on tax is worth waiting for a soda. I can drink about three of them before that time. Waiting til the second day also wouldn't work since I drink at least two for lunch and dinner that first day. I definitely get my money's worth out of the card, since I'm an alcoholic and don't drink booze, it's worth every penny to me to buy it right away. Holders3 Posted August 4, 2012 #41 Share Posted August 4, 2012 I'm gonna carry on a 12 pack of diet coke to fill in the gaps. Yes there is something addictive in them.........caffeine+something.
pkrchkr Posted August 4, 2012 #42 Share Posted August 4, 2012 If you buy the glass do they refill it for free.. or do you still have to get the bottomless bubbles stickers.. is it just a souvenier or is it a better bargain then the soda program? kierra Posted August 5, 2012 #46 Share Posted August 5, 2012 I'm one of those Pepsi addicts. A strong addiction. Pepsi-holic. I've traveled the globe enough to learn that I can 'make do' with Coke or even some worse local sodas if i have to but I neeeeeeed my carbonated, sugary, caffeine. Why, oh WHY can't Carnival go the way of Pepsi!!!!! Or at the very least serve Dr Pepper out of all US based ports. I like Dr Pepper too! So if i have to have coke, I prefer fountain - but if in cans I like Cherry Coke. If i order a Cherry Coke, since they don't carry it in cans ( i don't think..) will they put a shot of grenadine in it for me, or will they charge me extra for doing that? Also i know there's a 15% gratuity that you pay with the bottomless bubbles card - are you expected to tip atop of that? Not being cheap on tips just want to be prepared with enough money. jrmende63 Posted August 5, 2012 #47 Share Posted August 5, 2012 I have started buying the soda card sticker through Bon Voyage before we sail. There is a letter in the cabin that shows we have paid. We take this to the Casino bar and they put on hubby's sticker. Easy Peasey! I also bought me some soda coupons as sometimes I want a soda..but I will never in a million years drink all the soda that hubby drinks so this should work for me! The soda card is cans of coke ect..They will put in a shot of grenadine ( usually) without a charge to you. There is no extra gratuity needed with the endless bubble card. Enjoy your cruise! I have never asked but why would they give you grenadine for free ,Its something they have to pay for.I would suggest to ask them for cherry juice ,better than grenadine
jules815 Posted August 5, 2012 #50 Share Posted August 5, 2012 The cup was $4 extra, if I remember correctly. It was definitely below $7 bucks. Wasn't the cup included with the package in the past? When did they start charging?
