iheartbda Posted August 8, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 8, 2012 When you see it from a bit of a distance there are all shades of blue, blue/green, turquoise, aqua and some places almost a purple but pictures don't do it justice. Really amazing to see it from the air.
blue_water Posted August 8, 2012 #7 Share Posted August 8, 2012 The colors are very pretty and are similar to the southern Carib, as said a variety of shades depending on the depths and sunlight. Sitting in WLB last June we could have been on a beach in Barbados or Antigua. The pink coral that you see on the sand in Bermuda is very pretty at dawn and dusk as it shimmers, but it can be very rough when the tide goes out so be careful of that (the sand is soft but the coral is rough). Nice water but cooler of course.
Tike1206 Posted August 12, 2012 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2012 The water is many colors of blue! We just got back and I miss the water, I could have spent a day just staring at the water.
kendon Posted August 12, 2012 #9 Share Posted August 12, 2012 The two times I was there, the color was the same but the clarity wasn't due to water turbulence. It's gorgeous just the same, but snorkeling wasn't as clear and vivid.
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 12, 2012 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2012 The water is a very pretty color and the Island is beautiful. Keith

It's gorgeous just the same, but snorkeling wasn't as clear and vivid. The sea conditions and location play a role in the clarity when snorkeling off the beach, of course. We have different experiences with off-the beach snorkeling on several islands because of the different conditions. When off shore (off the boat) that is less of an issue. Warwick Long Bay is a gorgeous beach.

blue_water Posted August 13, 2012 #16 Share Posted August 13, 2012 Jobson's Cove, our favorite beach! I may be missing something, but Jobson's Cove is a small pool, this looks like the cliff on the west end of WLB. The waves sound like thunder crashing against that cliff. Jobson's is the small cove on the other side of the knoll, very calm and surrounded by cliffs. Both are beautiful!
