What to expect at Pier 66

Will be arriving at Pier 66 in a few weeks to cruise on the Pearl. We plan on getting there around 10:45. What can we expect as far as baggage handling is concerned? Are the NCL porters right there to take your bags? I don't know if there are any other lines leaving from the same port on Sundays. I know it will probably be super obvious what to do when we get there, but have never cruised with NCL or in Seattle before. thanks

Yes there are pleanty of porters to whisk your bags away to security - make sure that you have your tags on them.

Are you driving or taking a taxi or a NCL transfer- if you are on a transfer- your bags will go directly from the airport to the ship - if you are getting there by taxi then you will be dropped off on the street in a drop off zone - there you will have the porters - if you are driving, you can also use the drop off zone and then go accross the street to park. There is a skybridge from the parking structure to the terminal bld. If you miss one of the porters then there is another bag drop off point at the terminal

Your bags will go one way and you need to go the opposite (we had lots of fun watching people trying to follow the porters - even after clear directions as to where they should go). Your next stop will be the security check in - this is a queued line - and with only two machines it goes slowly. From there you will go up stairs to the NCL check in desk and from there to the ship.

We were there around 11:30 and it was starting to get crowded - we were in a suite so our check-in was simpler - we were escorted around the security queue and to the front of the line - then we had a seperate check-in area and an escort onboard the ship to our suite and then to Cagney's for lunch.

Just keep your head about you - watch the signs and you should be fine.

The Pearl will be the only vessel at Pier 66 on Sunday, so the porters should be ready willing and able. Can't help you with the rest; haven't sailed from Seattle.

If you haven't visited Pike Place Market, check your luggage, then take the elevator up to the Market and grab a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers for your room, for under $10. The Market is a quieter place before noon.

Is the elevator right at the pier? I would love to get flowers for my cabin - do they have arrangements or do I need to bring a vase? Thanks to both of you for your responses. I'll be taking a taxi to the port - glad the Pearl is the only ship leaving that day.

It will be super obvious what you are to do. Don't worry, it will be very easy.

If you have ordered flowers thru the cruise line, they will provide everything you need. If you are bringing flowers, just ask your cabin steward, they will get you what you need.
