Will anything be open on July 4, 2013

Thinking about taking the Southbound Island Princess July 1, 2013. We would be in Skagway on July 4. Will any of the stores be open? Wondering if I need to change dates so that we are not in port on July 4.

Every port is "open" every day in the summer. Skagway is a hoot on July 4. They have a parade and other activities.

Summer is when they make the majority of their money, so, they are going to be open.

make sure you have enough cash for the day as the bank might be closed. my friend and i didnt want too wait in line at guest services too cash in some travelers checks. when we got downtown skagway the bank was closed for the day as it was a normal day they closed. but all the shops will be open on the 4th.

Yes, as mentioned everything will be open except for say a Bank or Post Office.
