We flew to FLL this morning and checking into our hotel room is when we found out Allure would not be coming in until Tuesday. RCI has told us we will receive $650 OBC, 10% of what we paid for this cruise in a future cruise credit, hotel room tomorrow and Monday nights and $100 pp per day Sunday and Monday for food. It has only sprinkled here this evening. We should have 5-10 inches rain tomorrow and strong winds tomorrow night. We have stocked up on supplies at Publix, and are just chilling at the hotel tonight.

The disappointment is understandable but under the circumstances the compensation sounds good. You have the right idea, chilling and making the best of the hand your dealt. Have a great cruise, although abbreviated.

Cruisers need to understand why the price of a cruise is so low during the peak of hurricane season. This is the biggest reason. For the possible inconvenience of a hurricane interrupting their cruise. RC is trying to make the best of this situation. They cannot control the weather. Think of all the money overall the cruise company is forking out to make things right for all their cruisers. It is not their fault Mother Nature is having a really bad time and sending it to the Caribbean to mess with everyone's vacations!

Its great that people can make lemonade out of the lemons they were given. We have cruised many times during hurricane season, and have had great weather. We always buy insurance, in case of medical evacuation first, then for all the other reasons, and hope we never have to use it.

So sorry! You must fill us in when you return, sounds like a generous comp package. Hope you have an amazing time once onboard.
