And I'm also hoping New Orleans is prepared this time.
Rare May B Posted August 27, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2012 We can never underestimate Mother Nature. Thank goodness she is somewhat courteous about advance warning, with hurricanes. But of course it isn't an exact science! Thx for the kind thoughts, Anne, and totally agree, MidwestChick.
CintiPam Posted August 27, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2012 Thanks, uktog, for posting this thread. It is very sad to be reading that this storm now is eerily following Katrina's path and may make landfall on the seven-year anniversary of that horror. dfishner Posted August 27, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2012 We were very lucky we live in Ft Lauderdale and it was a non event for us just heavy rain and winds from time to time..I am concerned about New Orleans being ready and prepared for Issac and hopefully there is no repeat of Katrina. Andy Posted August 27, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2012 We were very lucky we live in Ft Lauderdale and it was a non event for us just heavy rain and winds from time to time..I am concerned about New Orleans being ready and prepared for Issac and hopefully there is no repeat of Katrina. We prepared for the worst, but were fortunate. We experienced quite a few power outages, but each time, the power was restored quickly. Lets hope our friends in the Gulf coast region will be spared major damage. Thanks for the nice comments UKTog.
