What's your favorite part

What is your favorite part of the cruise? For me, it's embarkation. I don't mind the lines, the waiting, etc. I think it's the best part because you still have the whole cruise in front of you!

Just curious what everyone else thinks.

Happy sailing!

Hey Jammin,

There is too much about a cruise to only pick one thing as your favorite! I don't mind standing in (a reasonable) line...like at Disney. Shoving off from the pier is awesome!! The pool & poolside bars, Casino, restaurants are all fantastic too. I think that our more memorable times come sitting on the balcony, watching the flying fish and catching some rays with my DH (the kids are in the next room) Did you know that room service on Carnival will bring your a bucket of beer? What a vacation!!

Happy sailing!

We usually get on the ship as early as possible, so my favorite time is right after we embark and put our carry-on bags in the room. The ship is relatively empty at that point, so we just stroll around and check everything out...pools, spa, public areas.

Oh, and then we get some lunch...it's probably the only time for the rest of the cruise that you won't have to wait in line for it!

My favorite part is when the cast off the lines the first time. You are now disconnected from the mainland and really on vacation.

13 cruises so far - RCCL, Carnival, Celebrity, Princess, NCL, HAL (we were on the last cruise of the wonderful Norway, still have my room key)

My favorite part might surprise you, but it is the night before the cruise. We always fly in a day early and spend that evening exploring Fort Lauderdale and enjoying a nice dinner.

No worry of whether we'll make the ship as all travelling is completed. Going to bed that night knowing that the cruise ship will be there in the morning is just as good as it gets, in my opinion.

Not that I mind much of anything about cruising. Its all good.

My favorite part of the cruise is meeting our cabin steward, introducing ourselves, smiling and saying how much we are looking forward to a wonderful time on His ship. Always a good time with the staff from then on.

My favorite part is that there is no favorite part. If there were, then there would be a letdown when it's done.

All the research and anticipation is great (like checking in and posting on these boards).

Packing is great, as I anticipate all that I will be doing (swimsuit - laying on a chair, scuba diving, suit - having an elegant dinner, etc).

Going on board, knowing that I'm going to have a week to ten days of good times and pampering.

Arriving in ports, looking forward to the activities and seeing new places.

About the only time I don't enjoy is the last full day, knowing that it's ending soon.

It's those magic moments that stick in your mind.

After a day of fun on the beach we went back to the ship, rested a bit, showered, dressed for dinner, and went to the top deck to watch the sunset before going to the dining room. The sun was setting and a swift breeze was blowing right through me and cooling my mild sunburn. Except for the wind, all the world was quiet and still.
