Carnival Players Club response !

We are booked on a B2B this coming October on the Liberty. I finally got around to calling the Carnival Player's Club phone number today; was on hold for maybe 8 minutes or so when a man answered. When I asked him if I was eligible for anything based on my past play in the casino, he matter-of-factly asked me for my past guest number, my booking number and date for the upcoming cruise and then put me on hold again. When he came back on the line, he informed me that I was eligible for $75 and my hubby, $25. He said I could pick it up at the cage. I was so delighted (and well, busy at work;), that I forgot to ask for some kind of written confirmation. Do I need anything to take to the cage?

Last time I received a casino cash comp...I did not have anything on paper either. Went to the cage...asked the cashier about the comp and she pulled out a list that had all the info. Just had to show ID and S&S...enjoy!

What number and/or extension did you call. I've been trying to get ahold of Michael or Mike for a week and none of the old numbers I have go to that department. I finally emailed them at the first of the week and haven't gotten a response.

I cruise in 2 weeks.

We ran into the same situation. I wrote them a letter:

"We booked a cruise through our TA. She said we qualified for a Casino Rate with my wife and I each getting a $50 credit. I called the Players Club asking how we get the credit. I was told that we have to show the certificate at the cage that came in the mail. We did not get a certificate. The booking agent just said that we qualified for it.

Is there a way to get written proof that we qualify for the $50 credit each? I would greatly appreciate it."

And here is their reply:

Hi Richard & Linda,

Thank you for contacting Carnival Players Club!

It is preferred that you have your cash voucher while on board, but it is not necessary. I’ve checked your reservation and you have been booked under the casino promo code so the ship will be well aware of your cash amounts. Please present your Sail & Sign card at the cage to claim them. If you have any additional questions and/or concerns, please let us know. We look forward to welcoming you on board!

You might want to call back and ask for an e-mail conf. I printed mine out about my cash I was to receive at the cage....even with that they could not find me on the list and had to wait till they called the next day to verify it. So you might want to play it safe! Have it in writing!

I called the main telephone number on Carnival's website and then the lady transferred me to The Players Club....and it was Michael I spoke to. It was a Thursday I called and it was around 4pm EST. (if that helps)

I never got a voucher or anything after booking our last cruise at the Casino Rate, so our first day at sea I went to the cage and gave them my name. The rep looked at his list, saw my name and amount and handed over $100 cash!! yay! I had to sign a receipt & that was it. ;)

My last cruise I had an email stating I was getting $75 good thing I did because I had to wait while they checked on it, I have an email for my next cruise saying I am get $50 I will be taking that with me as well, apparently my name was not on the list that they had, I always email OPC so that I can have some type of confirmation.

We always email Michael about 3 or four months out and print the email confirmation just in case.It did happen to us one cruise they would not give us what we were promised by the players club.I would call and ask they to send an email just in case you run into any problems

I had an e-mail certificate for $25 for one cruise, but it said that it was only good for a certain time frame and the cruise was after that date. Luckily, I had an earlier cruise booked, so I took it on that cruise and presented it. I also had the printout with all the info and highlighted the Use By info.

They looked at the certificate and looked up my info and told me I couldn't use it on that cruise. When I pointed out the fine print, they said the cruise had to have been Booked within those dates, which it had been. I took it home and used it for the later cruise with no problems. Unfortunately I don't gamble enough to qualify for any better Casino perks but I'll take what I can get!

I sent an email a week or so ago, explaining that I was on a B2B, that I had booked under a casino rate (but actually ended up moving the res but I have a $50 voucher); explained how much I'd spent on Glory last October and received a gift basket, but when I sailed 6 weeks later I received only $25 cash. Said I was confused as to the rating when I received so little after having just spent the most I'd ever spent in the casino.

Anyway, i basically asked if I'd receive anything on my B2B and if maybe they would carry over my points from Leg 1 (a 5-night) to Leg 2 (7 nights).

This is the response...

We are so glad to hear you are sailing again! If you cruise was booked within the timeframe given on the offer then you will just need to bring it with you to claim at the casino cage. That would be your pre-boarding offer and anything additional will be extended to you while on board based on your level of play on this cruise. We look forward to welcoming you on board!

This was from Michael. I thought the "anything additional will be extended to you while on board based on your level of play on this cruise" part to be rather different/confusing. Everything I've ever read is that it's based on your prior play within the last xx months (that seems to vary). Wonder if he was referring to anything additional on Leg 2 would be based on my Leg 1 play.

I may just write back and ask him for clarification.

Icantwait - if you do an advanced search for "players club" threads and search Carnival board only, you should get plenty of hits where this is discussed.

I think this might refer to perks given to you by the Casino host which is different than the Players Club perks. Like one time, I got my On Us card on embarkation day before the casino was even open. Another time I won a pretty large jackpot and the casino sent me Champagne and Canape's.

I've been told several times that the Casino won't or can't correct issues regarding the perks that the Players Club have extended to you.

I was on a "disjointed" B2B last fall, got off the Conquest on a Sunday and got on the Triumph on Monday, but I was told that I would need to call the Players Club before boarding the ship on Monday to see if they were going to give me anything. They also said to let the host on the Conquest know that I was going to be on the Triumph the next day, so that he could contact the host on the Triumph and to ask for my win/loss statement from the Conquest before I left the ship.

The host on the Triumph didn't give me any casino cash, but did send a fruit basket and wine to the cabin.

I miss just being able to fill out the online form, but Michael said that they won't be reinstating that.

We just got off Carnival Triumph

Michael told us we would get strawberries and a free picture verbally on the phone before the cruise.

We got strawberries delivered the first day but didn't get a coupon for a free photo.

We went to the casino cage and asked about the coupon. They sent us to the photo people who sent us back to the Casino Manager.

The casino Manager asked if we had anything in writing. We didn't. She tried to blow us off but I asked her to check her lists since we had already gotten strawberries the first day. She reluctantly agreed to check the list and then tracked down my wife a couple hours later with the photo coupon.

I recommend you try to get something in writing.

Maybe I'll try calling him on Monday. I like to do these things via email so I have the response in writing, but since I didn't really understand his first response, it may just make more sense to call him directly.

So, is it up to the casino host(ess) as to whether your points will be carried over to the 2nd leg? I've seen that some have been but others have not. Hey, I'm no high roller, but I do tend to spend more time in the casino when solo, as I will be on Leg 1. But since it's 5 nights, I really doubt I'll get to the drink card (are they even offering it on 5-night cruises), or to get any sort of perk on Leg 2.

I figured the casino personnel were employees of the Players Club, and not Carnival employees (like the spa and shop employees are not Carnival employees), and that they did whatever the Players' Club told them to do.

I've never seen any reference to the Player's Club and the actual casino employees being unrelated. No wonder they don't seem to always know what's going on.

I heard that a free drink card that the casino gives out will be good for all cruises over a 12 month period. Is it true??????

The "Drinks on Us" card is only valid for the sailing that you are on, they put a date on the card.

Hi, does anyone know if this "Michael" handles just Carnival Casino Perks or the other affilliated lines too (Princess)? In the past I just emailed OPC if I was sailing Princess or Carnival and usually got something. I am wondering because after booking my Princess cruise I got some great offers from Carnival including 30% off + $150 in casino cash .

It got me wondering if I could get any rake off on Princess. When I went to OPC website I see you have to call, not email and there are different numbers for each line. I did call the Princess number and was informed "they don't do that".

I did inquire at the time about any gifts or perks I might get on my upcoming cruise and they said just call when it gets closer. Of course I'd rather email because I also ALWAYS print the confirmation email. I've only had to use it on Carnival, but it's good to have.

Found it. Yes, I had sent a question via the Ocean Players Club Feedback link (back when that was available) asking if my prior Carnival play would carry over to my HAL cruise.

The response was from Michael and in it he said, yes it would and requested that I send him my booking information so that he provide the details to them.

I really feel like I spend more money in the casino, but hubby is always the one who gets cash offers and the full treatment from the casino host. On our last cruise they were comping him drinks on a regular basis. I've earned the drinks on us card the same number of times that he has.

They always send us a basket of fruit with a bottle of wine, a photo coupon, and some strawberries which we share. So, I'm not complaining ... just trying to figure it all out.
