southampton hotels

This does not answer your question but hope it helps.

There are several piers in Southampton. Our first cruise we stayed at the Novotel. We saw that the cruise terminal was across the street and we decided to walk. It was a hike with our luggage. We were cruising on the Brilliance of the Seas which was just out of drydock and had finished a short cruise from Hamburg. At the time we did not even know there were different terminals. We just got lucky.

Next cruise is on Queen Victoria and it is from Ocean Terminal. We will take a cab. We always prefer a cab to a shuttle bus. I am anxious to go when I am ready to go.

We got a great rate at the Premier Inn West Quay which is rated well on Trip Advisor. We wanted to be a little closer to the historical center of town than the Novotel.

Here is a map.

If you are trying to do this inexpensive here are some tips: We had dinner in a restaurant that is right by the multiplex/casino. On travel days from the U.S. we have an early dinner and sleep for hours. There was a McDonalds right near the Novotel where we had a light breakfast. We always do light breakfast before a cruise and save room for lunch which we rarely eat.

Depending on your dock, any of the above hotels are either a short walk or ride away....if you're on Celebrity Eclipse or Independence OTS, then they moor almost next to the Holiday Inn, and you can watch them come up river from your window, or moor if you're on the other side of the hotel......then stroll across with wheeled luggage, pop the cases in the door, and go to queue.
