IAMCRZIN Posted September 5, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2012 I am assuming from what i have read is that you get a 25% discount on buckets of beer with the new bar package. Is this what you all are understanding?? Also have you seen anything about whether this bar package would be available for any lengths of cruise? DEBnGAB Posted September 5, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 5, 2012 It says drinks over $10 get the 25% off..but not sure that includes a bucket of beer.
jen&samcantwait Posted September 5, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2012 Apparently drinks over the $10 are 25% off. Not sure how buckets are going to work, since it's actually 4 drinks under $10. At first, I was wondering why it matters you can just get singles, but, I can see how slow service may lead me to missing my bucket.

Texarribean Chick Posted September 5, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2012 I'm wondering the same, OP. This drink package would work well for us. We typically drink 3 buckets of beer per day and then a couple of mixed drinks at night in the casino, at the shows, etc. But, the thought of having to wait forever for service for another beer refill is making us backstep a bit about jumping into this program on our next cruise. It will be interesting to see how it works with the test cruisers.
IAMCRZIN Posted September 5, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted September 5, 2012 Where did you see that? I haven't seen any special beer bucket info other than you had to purchase beer one at a time. The "My Awesome Bar Program" package, as it's being called, costs $42.95 per person per day plus an automatic 15% gratuity of $6.44 and can be used to order all wines by the glass, beer and individual cocktails priced at $10 and lower. Full bottles of wine and champagne, as well as wines by the glass, beers and individual cocktails priced above $10, are available at a 25% discount.A caveat: Each passenger ages 21 years and over in the same cabin must purchase the beverage package -- a rule presumably enacted to prevent cabin mates from "sharing" a package. Passengers under 21 cannot buy the package as passengers must be 21 years or older to consume alcohol on Carnival ships There are no single beers for more than $10 that i know of....so i was assuming they were talking about buckets?? I copied and pasted the above from another thread.

Get singles and as they deliver one, order another, WITH a bucket of ice on the side. BUT I guess if you are sharing with friends you could buy the bucket at 25% off and be getting yours for free and pay for the others.

Kerryman50 Posted September 5, 2012 #13 Share Posted September 5, 2012 Why would u want to pay for a bucket, when singles are included in the pkg? I can give you one good reason and this is just us but I would go up to the aft Lido deck bar and get a bucket of beer and take it back to our cabin and relax and enjoy a cold beer on our balcony.;)
golfb4cruzing Posted September 6, 2012 #14 Share Posted September 6, 2012 Why are you wondering if available on a short cruise? Not prudent but I've been on a few cruises with power drinkers.

IAMCRZIN Posted September 6, 2012 Author #19 Share Posted September 6, 2012 Why are you wondering if available on a short cruise? Not prudent but I've been on a few cruises with power drinkers. Not sure if you are even talking to me because i didnt say anything about a short cruise. I asked if anyone knew if this package would be available for all lengths of cruise. Like maybe it would only be available for 7 day cruises...
DEBnGAB Posted September 6, 2012 #20 Share Posted September 6, 2012 I don't see where it says no buckets....i see where it say no sharing buckets. The verbiage is listed under "beverages prohibited" and my interpretation from that was no buckets...but I do where it says "sharing cocktails, etc" under the very same header. So either their allowed but no sharing, or they are not allowed. Clear as mud! Post to John Healds FB page and ask him.
Kerryman50 Posted September 6, 2012 #21 Share Posted September 6, 2012 I could not agree more. Kerryman said it best! ;) Thanks and I'm hoping that someone at CCL sees this and maybe they will "TWEAK" the awesome program in the near future so we can get our buckets of beer included. CCL will still get our $$$ and we are going to drink the same amount one way or another but maybe that's what they're counting on. We are still going to enjoy ourselves and have a great time.:D

It might cost me a bit more for less drink to be happy. Plus the wine package for the MDR.
Ineed2cruise247 Posted September 6, 2012 #23 Share Posted September 6, 2012 From what I read in a news article, this package is only available on one ship, the victory out of Miami. This is still in trial phase and has not been released to the entire fleet. Also, the total per day for the all you can drink package of 42.95 a day plus gratuity or whatever it was quoted in this board, all persons over 21 y/o in the state room must purchase the package. I for one don't mind, I'm a drinker, but as for the older crowd or people who don't drink that much, I can see this becoming a problem. Hope this helps explain this program a bit better

Ineed2cruise247 Posted September 6, 2012 #25 Share Posted September 6, 2012 I actually posted the wrong ship, I meant to put the victory out of miami, but if carnival has added another ship and its the splendor, thats great. I just hope it trickles its way down to the Carnival Paradise by oct 20. It would certainly help my drinking budget!
