CR dude Posted September 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2012 We are Jim and Flora retired and living in Costa Rica. We are considering a cruise aboard the Maasdam for the 11 day cruise departing Fort Lauderdale on 1 April 2013. We are looking at this cruise because it includes 3 ports (St Kitts, St Croix and St Vincent) that we have not previously visited aboard HAL, or other, cruise ships. Although we thoroughly enjoyed our B2B cruises aboard the Niew Amsterdam last November, we enjoyed the March 2011 B2B cruises on the Maasdam even more. Just wondering if there will be any more old timers aboard the April 1 2013 cruise - or is that a dumb question for a HAL board? Previous cruises and ocean voyages Nov 2011 HAL Nieuw Amsterdam 15 day B2B cruises out of Ft Lauderdale. March 2011 HAL Maasdam 25 day B2B collectors voyage out of Ft Lauderdale. 2008 NCL Pearl out of Miami – got the presidential election results at sea. 2005 Carnival Conquest – out of New Orleans before Katrina. 2004 NCL Sun 16 day Repositioning cruise Miami to LA. 2001 Carnival Jubilee out of Tampa. 1996 Carnival Mardi Gras - Carnival’s first cruise ship – out of Port Canaveral. 1957 US Navy vessel with wife, daughter and newborn son from Panama to NY with stops at Guantanamo Bay Cuba, and Puerto Rico. 1954 US Navy vessel with wife and newborn daughter from Yokohama Japan to Seattle with a stop at Adak in the Aleutian Islands. 1951 US Navy troop ship from CA to Japan during the Korean War. momatibm Posted September 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Go over to the roll call board and check on the Maasdam -- there is a roll call for your cruise. That will be the second half of my B2B (now called Collector) -- this will be our 3rd time on the Maasdam
sail7seas Posted September 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Here is a link to your Roll Call. That is where you'll find others cruising on the Maasdam the same date as you. Maasdam and Noordam are our favorite ships. :) We've sailed Maasdam a great many times and have 3 more cruises booked on her. :)
KirkNC Posted September 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 16, 2012 Nope we won't be there. So far our favorite has been the Rotterdam.

Crazy Gramps Posted September 19, 2012 #8 Share Posted September 19, 2012 The "Z". At first blush the decor looks like Salvador Dali threw up. After a day or 2 it gets really nice to look at. Ship is the right size and crew always quite good. Gramps
