Ykgorbie Posted September 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 17, 2012 Is this walk do-able ? When I "Map It", it says it is 2 km and takes 4 minutes by car, BUT looks like maybe there is a bridge to contend with and don't know what traffic is like....any help would be appreciated! Thanks ! An option you might consider is to use the Miami Metromover. It is an elevated train that runs through the downtown area. There is a stop for it about 2 blocks from your hotel at NE 15th Street and N Bayshore Dr. and take it to the College/Bayside Station. The College/Bayside station is behind the Holiday Inn POM and Bayside Marketplace is across the street. Otherwise a taxi would take about 5 minutes and should be $10 or less to get to Bayside from your hotel.
JohninDC Posted September 17, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2012 It is walk-able but seems to me to be a bit longer than your computer map would indicate, or you can use the metromover as described above; after dark I would suggest taking a cab back to your hotel. Good luck! :)
Rare Keith1010 Posted September 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 17, 2012 You could walk it but it will be about 30 minutes depending on how fast you walk. You may want to take the Metromover and then once you arrive walk around that area. Keith
miamiyogi Posted September 17, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 17, 2012 You can also take the free trolley to Bayside, there is a stop almost in front of the Doubletree. Service is about every 15 minutes Monday-Saturday.
Suitcasefull Posted September 17, 2012 #6 Share Posted September 17, 2012 We stayed at the Doubletree and loved it. We had planned to go to the market but were enjoying our balcony so much there that we just ate dinner closeby, picked up wine in the shop downstairs and had a relaxing evening before the cruise. Had booked a precruise package so it included breakfast and shuttle to pier. The people at the desk are very helpful so would suggest you call them direct and ask anything specific. I talked to them a couple of times before we went. There's a new publix close.
