Cloud 9 Spa Room Questions

You can check out the pics & detailed description in my Magic review here. The pics are in post # 18. My description is in post # 3.

My mom loved the Thalasoomonopolohoooha pool.:) I enjoyed it, but the therapy rooms were my favorite. There were 4. 2 were hot and very steamy, 1 of the 2 had an oceanview, but the windows were always steamy. There was one room that was pretty mildly warm, and another room inbetween the 2 temperatures. Both of those rooms had a nice view of the ocean. They were very relaxing, and all had different scents in them. I would keep moving around to the different rooms. Since being home, I found a couple soaps with scents like were in those rooms, and had to get them. There was a "shower" around the corner in the mild room (1-person, not private) that was mainly to rinse off. It had a few different settings: overhead, from the sides, and even a nice scented mist. We paid $100 in total for the upgrade, and it was certainly worth it for that, especially since we had a crowded Spring Break ship, and it was nice to escape the crowds.

I swear Quite a few times I've read some of your posts and not realize its you!!! Too many times!! Then I was reading this post then looked at your signature and seen it saying Tortola on the Breeze 4/13/2013....And I say to myself wow me too!! Then I look and sure enough its you!!!!! Had to share cause I thought it was quite funny!! I'll have to go and see your review on the magic, We got a Cloud 9 Spa balcony for our cruise on the Breeze and I'm so anxious to see an room close in comparison to it!

We purchassed a Balcony Guarantee on the Conquest and were given a Spa Balcony. I have 2 questions FOR THE CONQUEST specifically:

1) Is the balcony on the spa cabins ON THE CONQUEST a covered one or open to the sky/sun?

2) Are the Spa perks ON THE CONQUEST the same as some of the newer, bigger ships? (e.g. special aroma amenities or big fluffy bathrobes).

The info on the Carnival website about these spa cabins on the Conquest made me think that there are fewer plusses on this class ship for these cabins. Hopefully I'm wrong!

We had a balcony on the Conquest in 2009.

1. The balcony on the Conquest is not covered. People on the deck above can look down on your balcony. You have a sliding glass door instead of the regular door to the balcony.

2. The Conquest does not have the Cloud 9 spa. This means nothing comes with this cabin. You are also able to smoke on the balcony unlike the balconys on the ships with the Cloud 9 spa (Dream, Magic, Breeze, Splendor). We also had an inside spa cabin on the Magic this year. We received the same amenities as you get with a balcony.

I don't know what you mean about "buying the package". Our spa balcony cabin on the Magic last summer was only a class up or $50 more than the next balcony class.

It also included two gym classes per person and balconies were smoke free. We enjoyed unlimited use of the T-Pool and thermal suite. If you don't like what comes with the cabin, why are interested in booking it?

What they mean by "buying the package" is that people who are not booked in a spa cabin can purchase the access to the T-pool & therapy rooms for the week or for a day. I believe it's $249/couple for the week. It's a steep price; I wouldn't pay it. But some people would have to pay more than that to upgrade to a spa room, so they'd come out better by buying the package, if it sounds good enough to do. I think the OP meant that the list Carnival gives doesn't really help much (which it doesn't), and they're wanting first-hand accounts from past cruisers, so that they can determine if they want to do it.

I forgot to mention about the 2 free classes. We didn't bother with them. The toiletry items are extremely tiny and not really worth mentioning. I'm not a robe & slippers guy, so I can't comment on those. The slippers were about 10 times the size of my feet, but I hear you can ask for ones in your size. But like I said, for what we got for only $50pp more to get the upgrade, I'd do it again.

We had a Spa balcony cabin on Dream earlier this year. I loved being able to see directly out to the ocean instead of seeing the Promenade deck as we usually do when we stay on the Verandah deck.

We had rough weather on our cruise and only use the thalasso pool one day. It was rocking and rolling and very difficult to move in the pool.

I loved having no smoking on our balcony. It was so great to be able to go out and not smell smoke at all. I did not care for the Elemis products at all. For whatever reason, I didn't like the scent. I usually do like citrusy things, but I don't know what it was about this stuff that I didn't like.

I thought the slippers were a nice touch as I never think to bring slippers with me. I feel that we did not take advantage of the spa area at all. We are thinking about having a spa cabin again for Dream in November, but still not sure if we will. We like being midship and that's where we are right now.

I just remembered that there is a great review that includes a lot of info about the spa area. I think it's by Italian femme or something like that. It is from December of 2011 I think. She has lots of photos too so that can give you more info.

From what I have read on their website a upgrade to to Spa cabin thru a guarantee does include any of those cabin privledges. Don't know how they enforce it or know how you got your cabin.

If you are automatically placed into a spa cabin via a guarantee rate, you don't receive the spa benefits. If you pay for an upgrade, you do receive the benefits. (I paid $3.60 to move from Deluxe OV to Spa OV and I placed two calls to verify that I will receive the benefits. I will.)

The grey area is if you receive a free upgrade via an Early Saver rate. Technically, this isn't an "upgrade" since you paid for price protection. Some people claim that you do receive the spa benefits with this and some claim you don't. It seems to me that you should, but I don't have personal experience.

This is great information for those ships that have a Cloud 9 Spa. But they were asking about the Conquest in particular. The Conquest does not have the Cloud 9 Spa so there are no spa benefits. We had a spa balcony on the Conquest and there were no spa benefits.

It is confusing because there are balconies on the Spa deck on most ships. But only ships with a Cloud 9 Spa get the spa benefits. What is even more confusing is on the ships with the Cloud 9 Spa some of those spa balconies aren't on the Spa deck but on Panorama Deck. Those still get the spa benefits. We know because we had a spa cabin on Panorama.

I'll be in a spa cabin on the Dream in less than two weeks. We upgraded from a Deluxe OV to a Spa OV for $3.60. We're in one of the gigantic handicapped cabins on the 11th floor, with the semi-private balcony. I'm extremely excited about the T-pool and the oversized cabin. This forum lacks detailed Cloud 9 Spa reviews, so I plan to take lots of photos and write a comprehensive review when I get back.

Please take lots of pictures of the cabin. We are in 11203 in October (not because of the Spa but because my mother is in a wheelchair) and would love to see more pictures!

thank you. :D

I'll do you one better than that...

We're in 11202, which is an oversized cabin, but it's a different shape than yours. However, there's a lady on our roll call and Facebook page who is in the cabin right beside me (11204). Her cabin is identical to yours in shape, just the reverse layout. We're both showing our cabins during the Cabin Crawl, so I'll make sure I take some good photos of her cabin too. That way you can see exactly what your shape cabin will look like. :)

  • 4 years later...

How did you like the cabin 11212? I have booked that cabin and I was wondering if you had a lot of noise from the gym above? And did you feel a lot of motion from the ship? I too booked this room for the spa features but I am just concerned about the noise from the gym right above us and the motion. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Booked a spa cabin on the dream last November and loved it!! I picked Cabin 11212. did not want 11208 due it being a handicapped cabin room and didnt like the room layout. Things i loved the most.

* When i stay in hotels i like high floors so wanted to book a cabin as high on the ship as possible

* right out my door to the right was a huge balcony which no one was never there.

* a quick walk down the hallway and i was at the gathering where the pasta bar was. (my fav place to eat)

* "private" elevator to serenity

notice i said nothing about the "spa features" that is because they were irrelevant to me and my brother. we did do the included class well because it was free. and we used the thalasso pool once. i booked the cabin for its location on the ship. all the spa stuff was extra. hth

Toothpick, I doubt you will get an answer from the poster, since this thread is from 2012. Hopefully someone will pick it up for you and answer :)

Check out this website. Very helpful and has tons of pictures. http://www.cruisedeckplans.com . I love it. It will give you a heads up if there warnings about noise or anything. I will tell you that if you are under the gym you will hear noise from the treadmills, etc even after the gym closes due to staff working out.

Don't think Horizon will have one of these. A little disappointed as we have booked a spa room.

I believe you are correct on no t-pool on Horizon. I think the Vista also doesn't have the T-pool. You do realize you quoted me from a post I made in 2012 which was before Vista and Horizon were sailing.

We booked the first spa cabin because it was the same price as the ocean view at the time. We have only booked spa cabins since. The access to the pool and the sauna rooms are great and it is much quieter than the other cabin areas.
