New to CCL and the Splendor

[ND Cruisers too]

A couple questions for you all since we have only cruised on Royal.

 

We will be on the Splendor on Dec 2nd and was wondering how many formal nights will there be (7 day cruise)? Will they have lobster on formal night?

 

And....the soda....is it coke or pepsi products? Any chance there is Mountain Dew and Diet Dew?

 

Thanks all......so looking forward to trying Carnival out and seeing Cabo!!!

Coke products, 2 elegant nights, they dont have formal nights any more.

 

Yes to lobster, almost the same as on 7 day RCL cruises. Its a small tail with shrimp to fill out the plate and brocelli and mashed potatoes.

You will have two Elegant nights. Yes you will have lobster on one of those nights. Coke products.

So for the elegant nights would a dress shirt and tie be fine for DH?

 

Bummer on the coke products...making the drink package look a little bettre...might as well have a Pina Colada if not having a Diet Dew :)

If he wants.. or no tie and just nice pants and a nice shirt.. or he can wear a tux.. its really whatever you want to wear pretty much, except shorts and tennis shoes.

 

You know you can carry on 12 sodas in your carry on right.. 12 each pax, up to 20 oz

You are allowed to bring your own unlike RCCL. You can also bring a bottle of wine or champagne per person...:o

Formal Nights have been changes to Elegant Night. People do still dress but not like they use to. We still dress formal for these nights.

 

You can bring a 12 pk of soda per person on board. Some people also bring on a case of water. Each of you may also hand carry on one (1) bottle of wine with you. Hope this helps.

 

We will be boarding as you are leaving. Be kind to the ship. LOL

ND Cruisers too - Cruise Elegant nights are Monday night and Friday night. No need for a jacket. Shirt and tie are okay. Lobster and Prime Rib are on the 1st CE night. FYI - the lobster tails are small.

 

Depending on how and when you are getting to the port, there is a Walmart not far where you can get some soda. There is public transportation that stops right in front of Walmart.

I've been on the Splendor and will be on her again this Sunday. Just be prepared for PINK. PINK ALL OVER. Once you get over the PINK it's a really nice ship.

You'll love the SPLENDOR. As others noted, you can order as much Lobster as you want. I think they're rock lobsters (smaller than typical N.E. lobsters), but very good, IMHO.

the hanging flowers are beautiful in the main pool area. i will miss her after she leaves the west coast
