After getting off the ship, we walked around to the little shops around the terminal and started to see why people do not like shopping around Jamaica. They were trying to had us stuff and a couple of guys were climbing the fence trying to give us necklaces and stuff. A kind "no thanks" goes a long way. These guys were not going to ruin our fun but I could see where some people would get tired of them after a while.

We took a group cab over to where the bobsled was located at Mystic Mountain. We loved the chair lift and the views that were offered on the ride there. Here are some pictures of the time we had there at Mystic. There is so much beauty in these pictures.

To get to the top of Mystic Mountain, you have to take a 15 minute chair lift ride. It was very relaxing but I was freaking scared to death of spiders in the trees!!!

When we got to the top, we strolled around for a couple of minutes and read the information regarding Jamaica. I had seen the movie "Cool Runnings" when I was younger but never really caught on to how much history this contained for the country of Jamaica. To read the info about it made me want to go watch the movie again!

After wondering the courtyard for a few minutes, we headed over to the bobsled activity. There they marked our bands and checked us in. We probably stood in line to wait until our turn for maybe 15 minutes.

We did the bobsled run and it was very fun though very quick in terms of time spent. If I were to go back, I am not sure if I would do this again but none the less it was quite fun doing it one time. After we did our bobsledding, we had lunch at the restaurant on Mystic Mountain. What a place of beauty this was. Very surreal experience eating lunch with the windows open and seeing the awesome view!

When we arrived at DRF, we were met by our guide and escorted through there.

The one thing about DRF that was aggravating was that we had to wait for everyone to buy shoes. This took no less than 20 minutes. After reading everything, we knew that you did not have to have a guide to go through the park or on the falls. Knowing this, it bugged me to know we wasted a lot of time waiting on people, that we did not have to wait on. After getting everyone together, we made our way to the base of the falls to begin to climb. Wil and Cherl did not participate in the climb but instead took the stairs and took pictures for us.

The climb was not bad at all and could be done by anyone with any reasonable amount of strength. The water was very refreshing and cool!

After getting to the top we took our picture as a memento of our success. Sam and Ann were great climbing partners and we would not have been able to have these memories without Wil and Cherl climbing the stairs with us.

We made our way back to the ship after making our way through the market and getting in our cab. Everyone, and I mean everyone, felt they needed a tip for the day. Does not matter who you are or what group you were in, they felt you needed to tip them. The one thing that I did not appreciate was the amount of time it took. We literally had 30 minutes before the ship was to leave when we got back. No time to explore the shops around the terminal or find a little dive to grab a bite to eat. As you can see by our previous stops, we like to get out and about in the country but later finding out some fellow passengers were held at gunpoint in Jamaica, it was probably better this way. Still, we literally spent all of our time at DRF and Mystic Mountain.

We went back to the ship, had dinner, and then went to the comedy club for the night. I have absolutely no pics from dinner that night but I assure you, we ate and it was good. I snuck away from my wife during the comedy show and went to “Cafe on the Way” to get a snack. I brought back the most ungodly piece of cheesecake ever! What do you think about it?!?!

We went to bed knowing that we were about to visit our very last stop on our B2B. Luckily we saved the very best for last. This next morning we were waking up to Grand Cayman!!!

Fantastic review David

We also did this excursion in Jamaica. It brings back great memories of fun but I certainly share your frustration about the time spent waiting around.

When we went our ship had been rerouted to Ocho Rios due to a hurricane. Our time to leave for the excursion was 8 am. We had 3 teens with us so you can imagine how easy it is to get them all up and going, fed and off the ship before 8 - NOT! There was a motorcoach that took us to the falls. All the way to the falls the driver was telling us we had to hurry to be the first ones there. We stopped on the side of the road to get our water shoes and he was saying we only had 2 minutes to get them so we could be first and have the best experince at the falls before it got busy. When we got the DRF we waited, and waited and waited. Apparently no one there knew we were coming because of the itinerary change and so they wre only opening at 10 am. We actually waited for an hour and 45 minutes, just standing there in the sun!! By the time they finally openend there were at least 10 bus loads of people waiting to go, no one was making sure we got through first since our bus was first - it was crazy, people were angry, complaining, the teens we had were half asleep from sitting around waiting for so long. We were very annoyed because those 2 hours could have been snpent seeing Ocho Rios.

Anyway, aside from that annoyance it was a great excursion. I have never laughed so hard as climbing up all of those rocks in the falls

I just climbed DRF for the 3rd time, this past August. It is one of my favorite places! So beautiful and refreshing!

Your review is incredible. I love your positive attitude and your treatment of people. If more cruisers were like you, those who complain would have little to gripe about!!

Having cruised on the Destiny 3 times in the last 10 years, I am now anxiously awaiting our June Med. cruise aboard the newly refurbished "Sunshine"!! Thanks for this awesome review!
