Sevencruiser Posted September 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 19, 2012 Does anyone know how the drink prices are at Rum Point Beach in USD? I assume drinks are not included in excursions there.
cb at sea Posted September 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 19, 2012 Everything is pretty expensive on GC....food, drinks....everything! The prices should rival the ship's prices...or be a tad more.
drew sailbum Posted September 20, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Rum Point is particularly known for tropical themed blender drinks. All menu prices are listed in Cayman dollars. ($1 US = $0.80 CI) Alcoholic blender drinks are listed on that menu under House Favorites but and are about CI$9 to CI$10 + 15% service charge (US$11.25 to US$12.50 + 15% service charge) Alcoholic beverages are not typically included in the excursion price. Sevencruiser Posted September 20, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted September 20, 2012 Thank you Drew. That's exactly what I was looking for, but for some reason my searches only came up with reviews. I should have been looking for menu.
clackey Posted September 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 20, 2012 I bought a Bud for my guide and a Red Stripe for myself. $
Sevencruiser Posted September 20, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted September 20, 2012 So, when they add a 15% service charge, is that the same as a tip in the US? Or is an additional tip expected?
blue_water Posted September 21, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 21, 2012 Their famous (and great) mudslide is $10CI. Do try the grouper BLT at the Wreck Grill, very good. You aren't expected to tip over the 15% unless you feel the service deserves it. I tip 20% for good service so I do add some when I pay. Great spot to spend the day. Actually you can eat and drink pretty reasonably if you're staying there and doing happy hours, and many places have daily specials like buckets of beer or 2 for 1 daiquiris and food specials. Not cheap but not as bad as I expected.
