I remember when we were aboard Noordam in Boston for her Inaugural parties and one of her lines snapped. It was handled smoothly and quickly and happily no injury or damage. Was very interesting though to observe just how it was handled. :)

What would you have preferred the people to do? Become hysterical? No one was hurt, and laughing is a stress reducer.

They don't need to become hysterical.

But they certainly could have shown more concern than laughing.

Wonder if they would have laughed if they had been thrown to the floor or knocked out of a chair and gotten hurt?

We were in Cozumel during the Inaugural season of the Zaandam -- 2000 -- when a line snapped.

We were out on our verandah and the ship rocked.

They quickly stopped everyone from getting on and off the ship and roped off everything until another line replaced the snapped one and secured the ship.
