How soon can you get off the ship after docking?

According to the itinerary our ship gets in to Aruba at 8:00am. Does that mean we will be able to get off the ship right at 8:00, or will it be later? We'd like to take a private tour that begins at 9:00am and we need to take a 15-20 minute taxi ride to get there, so I want to make sure we'll have time to make it before booking. Thanks.

You should be fine. Usually you can get off right away. Of course that assumes the ship arrives at time and there is no hold up with port authorities in clearing the ship.

One thing about Aruba-when we got there there was a madhouse as virtually the entire ship decided to disembark at the same time. Yes, we had specific times for tours etc but most of the people did not get Princess tours.

Even so, it should not take you long to get off the ship.

The ship will arrive at 8am. It then needs to be secured and the port authorities board. Usually, disembarkation starts 20-30 minutes after arrival. It all depends on how many ships are in port and how quickly the ship is cleared. There are taxis pulled up right outside the terminal. Last week, the Island Princess arrived early and disembarkation also started early. We were the only ship in port.
