Hi all

Thanks for all the info about the ship...it certainly helps make it more exciting for those of us cruising on her soon!:D

Can anyone tell me of a good location for sail away for a large group? We are thinking outside on a deck and close to a bar!

Would the Sky Bar area on deck 12 be suitable? Our sail away is at 11pm; would the bar be open or is it only open during the day? Has this bar area got any seats near it??

Any other suggestions would be welcome!

Thanks everyone!:)

Cheers

On VOS at the moment and we are in Napier. Biggest ship to dock here and the captain reversed in !!!! Pacific Pearl is also in port with us :)

It is those Azipods on the newer ships that make them so manouverable. VOS also reversed in at the OPT, Circular Quay, Sydney.

Sky bar may be good but it's a smoking area, so that may impact wether it's good for you or not.

Also depends on the wether as to what will be good on the day. :)

can someone please remind me what toiletries are in the bathrooms on voyager, shampoo etc, we are in a JS , if that makes any difference. Thanks

Dave

RCL only provide shower dispensers in their cabins, plus hand soap. However, for suites they may get upgraded toiletries, so not sure about the JS.

Thanks for that Avalon.

Can you recommend an area which might be better for a large group?

Not if you want outside & be near a bar as well, other than the pool bar area.

If the bar is optional I like the observation decks/helipad areas as they are mostly at the very front & there is no obstruction of view.

But maybe just all agree to meet somewhere central & then decide on the best spot after you have had a chance to see the ship?:)

Hi Chez

Captain is an ace with his reverse parking....:D we did a 180 spin in Shakespeare Bay, Picton so he could reverse into our berth at the Waimahara Wharf..... made fantastic viewing

Enjoy your cruise

Cheers

Shiona

Hi Shiona, enjoyed my cruise, I thought Capt Charles was fantastic he was really informative and was very approachable, apparently he likes reversing in so he can drive straight out when it's time to go ! ;) Gordon the cruise director is everywhere and he gives so much of his time to everyone, absolutely fantastic.

You get personalised toiletries like in a motel. This is a photo from Cruise Critic member Reckie. He had a junior suite on our recent cruise.

We are going from Singapore to Shanghai 8 nights on voyager.... We are Canadians... was it mostly chinese or Austalian or mixed??

Just off VOS after 2 weeks to NZ. This matter was discussed with the Cruise Director onboard - and I believe that there will be MANY Chinese nationals on their upcoming Asian cruises. This last cruise was mostly Aussies -- but that will change when the ship departs for Asian waters
