Night life at Dazzles, after closing it down we headed to Blaze...and the party continued on until the weeeeee hours of the morning...

I thought we should show this picture again...Macy leading the charge from Dazzles to Blaze!

This cruise really was a 'haze' of just having fun:D

I wanted to mention something about our experience with the clubs on this cruise. I don't know if it was specific to our cruise or a result of better design of the Allure.

Neither Paul or I are smokers. I have the tendency to be pretty badly affected by smoke with my allergies, and I end up hacking for hours.

We have found on all of our previous cruises (all RCCL and 1 Carnival) that we can't even walk through the Casino, and often don't spend a lot of time in the dance clubs and lounges because of cigarette smoke. It's one of the reasons we booked a Celebrity cruise for next year because of their smoking policy. Think how much money the Casino loses on us every year (I know the odds - we wouldn't be winning!) since we can't sit in there.

But on this cruise, the smoke never bothered us in the clubs. We ended up avoiding the Casino out of habit, but on the last day went to use up our free slot pull coupons, and the non-smoking section actually didn't smell. Hey, and we won 6 cents from the 4 pulls:cool:

Just 2 years ago on the Oasis we DIDN'T have the same experience....for whatever reasons there were a lot of smokers and tons of people who bathed in perfume and cologne...not just dabs! So this cruise was definitely a breath of fresh air, and I really don't know what to attribute it to.

Just sayin'

Hey, another thing about our experience in the clubs. I don't mean to be too negative between this post and my previous one, but hey - a review is about the good and bad, and what you observe. Of course THIS one is mostly about having a great time with fun friends!

Us old folks :p didn't want our last night to be too late a night since most of us were going to be heading home the next day and wanted to come out from vacation well rested.

We thought Dazzles would be a great location for a last drink together, conversation and dancing. I don't remember just when we arrived, but I'm thinking 10-11pm? When we walked in, there was a mom and 2 little girls on the dance floor. I thought it was unusual that the floor wasn't full already, cause it had been each time we'd been there before; the band is very good.

OK, that was cute for a short time and I realized maybe nobody wanted to go out there and trip on these little girls who were 'performing' on most of the dance floor. Just when I thought it must be so past their bedtime that they'd be heading out, all of a sudden a gazillion  little kids and their families filled the tables all around the dance floor. That's when we realized the Compass said:

9:30pm-12:30am Dancing Through the Decades with Musik Express (all ages welcome).

I can appreciate family time on your vacation - my daughters are now 22 and 25...I did a Big Red Boat cruise when they were 3 and 6, and it was great to relax while they were in the kids club, then enjoy family time together. But even if I wanted to dance with them in a bar / club I would have wanted them out of there before it got crowded and full of adult drinks. This large group was mostly babies to pre-teens, and the kids were running all over, taking sips of drinks off their parent's tables. It just seemed too much for too long.

We could have headed to Blaze at that point, but we were planning to have a lower key evening than that. After hearing a lot of grumbling around us that 'my kids would already be in bed at that age', we headed out.

I don't want to come across as an old fogey, and I often exposed my kids to a lot of experiences, - I think family dance time is a great idea, but I felt like there should have been a cutoff time for the really young kids.

Just my 2 cents - please don't flame me!

I agree with you Judi, it was cute for a little bit, but it was LATE when we got there....and it completely killed my "last chance party" buzz...and the buzz that I wanted to have before dancing myself...lol. I know in Europe they don't think twice about taking the kids into a pub or bar, but it's just not how I was raised...southern Bible belt kinda thinking. Jus sayin' no flamin' please...

Just goes to show ya, read the fine print in your cruise compass cause the electronic version out in the main hallway didn't tell you that "all ages were welcome"...If we'd known we'd have gone elsewhere, but by then the fizzle was gone from our little goodbye party, I think we were all dreading having to say goodbye to each other as well as the ship by that time. We knew the time was coming that RCL would kick us off the ship...Dang them people for kicking innocent people off the ship!!!

Just a brief snippet of post cruise stay in Ft. Lauderdale. They were in preparation for the huge yacht show the week after we left, they'd miraculously installed over 3 miles of extra docks for these "boats" to be brought in. My DH and Paul are 'boat' lovers of all kinds...and were fantasizing about which one they'd buy if they hit the powerball.

First a last celebratory drink on the beautiful beach...

The 'little yacht' behind the big gray one was reportedly Ralph Lauren's boat, of "POLO" fame...

this was our 'yacht' for the past week...

Johnny Depp's yacht being off loaded from the 'yacht mover'...

P1010573-1.jpg

Great little place for chicken quesadillas and a cold one...Joe's Tiki Bar...

while DH and Paul were planning on which 'boat' they could buy after hitting the Powerball...I was looking at a few houses...the lotto would probably pay the property taxes for the year, but not the utilities and purchase price...but one can have fantasies...lol...SANY0028.jpg

We had a fabulous time and loved being able to share it with new friends...look forward to the next one...You comin' Tres Amiga???

Yup. It sure gives a different perspective on the shows though. A "birds eye" view...lol;)

I watched from deck 12 and didn't see that fixture on the right side, so I took an educated guess. I rebooked deck 12 again.

During our Roll Call we discussed the many wonderful events that people were celebrating - weddings, honeymoons, anniversaries, birthdays, etc. (Of course every one of them was an excuse to raise a glass at Rita's! :p It was really fun to share that with everyone.

One of our members, DivaAAC (Angelic) was wanting to surprise her DH with a 10 yr anniversary vow renewal. She looked into having an official renewal ceremony done by the ship, but was discouraged by the cost, so asked for any suggestions for someone from our Roll Call to perform a symbolic renewal with them.

DH Paul is an ordained minister and volunteered. I suggested a spot in Central Park would be beautiful. It never seems crowded there and she suggested a sea day Friday at 10am.

We weren't certain exactly how and where they were going to be in the Park so got there a bit early and started walking around. We saw Vic sitting by himself and were sort of surprised Angelic wasn't there. We walked past and said hello, and Paul asked if he was ready...and OH NO:eek:! I remember the little 'P.S'. in her note that it was still a surprise, so I grabbed him and good recovery...'was he ready for another beautiful day at sea?'! Phew.

So we wandered around, I pretended to be quite interested in photographing the flowers and sculptures in Central Park...

we even found a real bird - much nicer than the fake piped in chirps!

Joe's Tiki Bar does look like fun! We will have a full day in FLL, pre-cruise....was it near a hotel? Or just near the ship?

I see it is a water taxi stop...if we manage that we may get off there. Thanks! :D:):D

It's on the Hollywood water taxi stop...I'm not sure it's an 'official stop' though, but our captain offered to stop and let us off and he'd be back in about 45 minutes to pick us up...we had time for quesadilla's and a few cold ones to wash it down. You could probably get there by taxi, but not sure since we took the boat.

Buy 1 get 1 free? Where the hell was I? Shoot, that's right, on the way home! Would love to have participated in that one!:D

yeah, we were thinking of you guys though. It would have been much more fun if you'd been able to hang out with us. The beach area of Ft. Lauderdale was beautiful.

Contrary to what I've read here on CC...about late departures.

The DH and I wanted to take advantage of the fact we were staying in FL for another day and a half and were in no hurry to get off the ship...so we elected a 'late departure' thinking we could walk around abit, sit up on the sun deck, etc...WRONG!! Our room steward was nearly knocking on our door as soon as we came back from breakfast in the MDR, he even told us we needed to be out by a certain time? [never been told this on any other cruise] and were basically hearded back into a different level of the MDR with rolling suitcases [carry-ons] right behind us which was real FUN [not] to dodge carts and dining tables. The debarkation was going slow and we had to sit in there for a couple of hours, those chairs are not very comfortable, especially when you're not distracted by FOOD, LOL. Kids were running around like it was a playground, and it was obnoxiosly noisy. If I'd only known then what I know now...we'd have been off first thing in the morning and been out enjoying a longer day at the beach in Ft. Lauderdale...what were WE thinking!!!

SO if you're planning a trip on Allure or her sister Oasis, take this into consideration.
