Hi Gambee. Will you be doing a review of the Disney cruise, either live or after? If so, where will it be posted? Looking forward to another of your great reviews. I have it marked on my calendar.

Thanks.

Gwen :)

Hello Gwen, how is everything?

No live review. But I will do a full review just like the other ones post cruise. It will be posted on the Disney section of this forum, I will post the link on my other reviews once it gets started.

I have a new camera that I am dying to try out :)

It is just a short 3 day cruise, but one that we are very eager to try out as we love Disney. Actually I have 2 new cameras, I replaced my underwater camera, and bought the RX100.

What did u get?

6 days!! Is it sad that I'm happy its only 3 days so we can see it faster?! LOL! Did you get the Nikon 1? I forgot.

No, kept the nex f3 as my main camera, Sony fixed the problem for free. I am trying the RX100 as a video camera mainly (and a fun camera mode), and the Olympus is the underwater camera. At this point camera size/picture quality ratio, I still think the NEX is unbeatable.

I'll be sure to look for it. Have a great cruise and if you are going with your Mom, tell her to have a great one too. Can't wait to see some pictures of a Disney ship. Only ever saw them from the outside, while sailing by or docked in port.

While the camera is important, it is the person that takes the pictures that is the most important thing. And you have a great talent for that. We all know that.;)

Wishing you great weather and calm seas.......

Gwen :)

We are so excited about trying the Disney product! A little less than a week to go, yayyyyy :D. The only thing that I am not crazy about is that it is such a short cruise, but I guess it is better than no cruise at all.

As far as the rough seas comment, well it is something that gets talked about often. I can see how some people will be deterred by that aspect of the cruise.

I absolutely love Disney cruise line. We have been 4 times now 3 on the Wonder and once on The Dream. They really know how to make a cruise enjoyable and the shows are truly incredible

Love white cameras, they just look so slick. Have you tested it out yet?

Gambee, I think I am going to save for a fisheye/wide angle lens. I don't want a super wide angle though. I will have to do my research.

I agree! A 4-night Disney Wonder cruise was our first and totally got us hooked on cruising!:) We had our boys with us who were 8 and 13 at the time, so I'll be interested in seeing an adult's point of view from you Gambee. Check out the adult areas; I know we enjoyed the nightlife. There's no casino of course, but I don't think that will bother you. Have fun and I'll be looking forward to your review!

I sold my ultra wide, I really did not like the perspective it offered.

I think the adult areas is where I will be most of the time :D. The lack of casino will go unnoticed with us, no worries :).

Nice to see you again Heather.

May I ask why you decided to move from the NEX system to Samsung?

Actually I'm keeping both for now. The first test of this Samsung will be on my live from Allure. It just seems like it might be a more powerful camera than the NEX but we will see. The Samsung does seem to offer more features and the 3D picture mode sounds very intriguing

What problem did you have with the NEX F3? I am interested since I bought the same camera, which I love so far! I only have the kit lens though. I hope it isn't a common problem. Glad that they fixed yours for free! Have fun on your Disney cruise. Can't wait to see the review!

Gambee -

I've been on the Allure twice with my third cruise coming in December, just found your review and couldn't quit reading it! Your pictures are the best I've ever seen in a trip review. I loved every picture, every word and your easy going attitude while on vacation. Your relationship with your mother is priceless and I loved how you let your bf enjoy his cruise how he saw fit without letting if affect your experience. Your English as a second language is better that some having English as their first language. Another thing I loved about your review was the fact that you were constantly on the go, making for a most exciting piece to read. You would be a blast to cruise with!

Thank you for your time and effort and the most enjoyable review I've ever read! Coming to the end gave me the same feeling as finishing a great book....loved the experience but hated for it to end.

I think we should all pitch in and send you on these cruises so we can make sure we'll have good reading material for years to come...LOL!

Thanks again and I'm really looking forward to your next review and every review after it!

I just knew you'd have the Disney review up before I finished this one! I noticed the link appeared in your signature about 2 pages back, so I hurried to finish here!

I'll be heading right on over there, that is, if my eyes can still focus after all I've been reading here. I can't wait to see what you have to say about the ship that got DH & I hooked on cruising.

I can't leave here, though, without telling you what so many others have already told you - you've done a GREAT JOB on this review! When I finish with your Disney review, I'll be heading for your NCL & X reviews. Then, if I understand correctly, you'll be heading for the Carnival Breeze! Our friends will be boarding her the day you disembark, so I will get a taste of what they are experiencing through your review. Looks like I've got a lot of reading to look forward to!

What can I sat that hasn't already been said. I stumbled upon this review and was mesmerized by the wonderful pictures and the great story. I hope you have already reviewed the Breakaway sailing because I am looking for that one next.

Thank you for the wonderful review it gives me a different perspective of the larger ship and puts the Allure on my radar.

I know that this was written a long time ago, but I wanted to add my "Thanks" for writing this. The review was awesome, and your pictures are amazing. You have a real eye for photography. I only hope that one day I will be able to sail on this magnificent ship. Thank you again!:D
