Another Silly question???

Can anybody tell me what the item is that seems to be on top of the bed on the first day of Carnival cruises. I have seen it in a lot of photos and it kind of looks like one of those bags you would carry a suit in. I see it in a lot of reviews so I am guessing it is something that comes with the room. Here is a photo

At a guess, a mat to unpack your suitcase on, protecting the sheets.

Correct....and after you unpack, your room steward will remove it. On your last night on the ship (when everyone is packing) the steward will put it back on your bed.:o:o

Well I will be buggered I would never have guessed that. I thought it was some type of storage pack for your hanging clothes.

End - BAD

And it does save the bed covers from a mess. I received one of our bags that must ahve been under a bag that must have had a rum-runner malfunction. This bag was soaked from rum and after unpacking and organizing the clothes than needed laundry, the bag sat on the balcony to dry for the first two days.

Just want to note that every cruise line we have sailed on uses them.

 

Not only good for protection the bed spread/cover but also from a sanitary point of view makes sense.
