cb at sea Posted November 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2012 You will have 2 formal nights.....both are equally as "formal"....as there really are no differentiations of "formal"...but, most folks will wear their fanciest stuff on the 1st formal night...which is night 2. P&C4/16/67 Posted November 30, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2012 My wife is bringing a very nice formal dress and she wants to know which night is more formal for a 7 nights Allure. Can't speak for the Allure alone but I've always noticed and dressed to the nines on the first formal night on all ships and lines. Phyl

Kellie Poodle Posted November 30, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 30, 2012 I always wear the one with the least amount of room in it on the first formal night just in case I gain a pound or two :D
Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted November 30, 2012 #7 Share Posted November 30, 2012 Formal dress guidelines are always the same every formal night. That said, it has always seemed to me that more people go "all out" the first formal night and lay back a bit the second night. Or it may be that fewer people participate the second time around and choose another dining venue or room service. Or they change their clothes after the formal dinner and get more "comfy." The first formal night it seems as if they are more apt to remain in formal attire for the whole evening, perhaps to pose for pictures. If you enjoy formal nights, you will have plenty of like-minded company if you want to dress to the nines on both evenings.

ERIE 13 Posted November 30, 2012 #9 Share Posted November 30, 2012 First night. The second formal night all your cloths will feel a wee bit tight.
